It wasn't long before Rhaenyra had finally found Rhaegon. It wasn't hard, given that they both had the same places they traveled to when they needed a moment of piece.

She found him standing in the godswood, taking in the sunlight above him. How he had missed the air of King's Landing, something he had never expected to think.

"You seemed so content on Dragonstone with Daemon and his whore," Rhaenyra spoke to him in High Valyrian, causing Rhaegon to sigh.

He opened his eyes and turned to her, smiling slightly. He watched her move closer to him. "There is surely more to your return than joining our uncle's antics and incessant need to taunt my father," She explained to him and Rhaegon only smile, moving closer to her, "And according to you, you're a man grown, and don't need your mother."

He greeted her with a kiss on the cheek, just as he did so many times before. It made Rhaenyra smile, which led to him doing to same.

He paused for a moment, eying the necklace she wore. It was all too familiar to him, just usually worn on another woman.

"That's my mother's necklace," He recalled, taking the pendant between his fingers.

"She gave it to me on the sixteenth nameday," She informed him calmly, "It's beautiful, isn't it?"

Rhaegon only hummed, removing the necklace from her grasp.

"So? Why have you come?" Rhaenyra questioned curiously, a part of her hoping to hear he had come back for her.

"I missed the comforts of home," He answered, much to her dismay, "I've lived in many corners of the realm in my life, this place has always been the one I like most. Regardless of what you think, I missed my home, my family."

He walked past her and toward the table of food nearby. It wasn't long before Rhaenyra quickly followed, refusing to end the conversation so quickly.

It had been three years. He had nothing else to say to her?

"I supposed you missed your whores," She pressed and Rhaegon only laughed, continuing to walk away.

"I had not thought you particularly comfortable in this home long ago," Rhaenyra complained, recalling all the times they spoke of running away together, "You've always been restless here. Just like your father."

Hearing the mention of Daemon in such a way, Rhaegon finally looked at her. He only earned a satisfied smirk in return from the princess.

She watched him pour himself a glance of wine, earning a smirk from her, "Though I do suppose you seem changed by your time with Daemon," She paused, eying him closely, "More matured, perhaps."

Rhaegon couldn't help the smirk that crept onto his lips. "You've matured yourself these last four years, Nyra," He responded, eying her up and down.

They were practically children the last time they saw each other. Now, they were considered of age.
