A little more than three years passed since Daena's marriage to Aemond. They were now six and ten, yet not much had changed in the years since their wedding. Not since that night Aemond decided to live in separate chambers. They maintained their public appearances and were civil but Daena knew Aemond was still upset with her even after three years. She didn't blame him, knowing she hadn't made matters any better. She never did. She always made it worse, whether or not she wished to.

The two changed into different people since then, both colder and meaner. Her grandmother always told her it came with growing into adulthood at the Red Keep. It changed people and not for the better. It poisoned them and stole their innocence.

It hadn't been long before Daena had found herself back in Aegon's bed and it seemed she was rarely in her own anymore. The two had only grown more shameless in their affair.
Aemond knew all too well about it but cared nothing for it. He never seemed to, much to his older brother's amusement. A part of Aegon felt his brother did care but refused to speak it.

Daena felt pathetic for returning to him but she already had no one at court. Daemion was rarely there anymore, the king was bedridden, and Aemond shunned her. Aegon made her feel wanted and gave her a bit of excitement in her life of solitude. And her greatest fear was being alone.

It hadn't been long before Alicent learned of it as well. She had been infuriated and attempted to end it between them on many occasions but nothing worked. They continued to venture off to taverns and pleasure houses, which angered the queen all the more. She knew she couldn't do anything about it. Not without dooming Aemond's fate as well.

It was morning and in Aegon's chambers, the prince of nine and ten awoke to the sounds of Daena's snores. He smiled and opened his eyes, admiring the sight of her sleeping body. She was naked and Aegon found himself able to see every inch of her through the thin material.

Her snores filled the chamber, just as it always did after a night of drinking. The girl only snored when she fell asleep drunk the night before. He found it amusing.

Her hair was messy, the waves covering parts of her face. She never cared, however. She never did. Not even when she was awake and in public. He loved that about her. She'd walk naked through the red keep if she could do it without dying. She knew the men imagined her without clothes anyway.

Aegon couldn't help himself and pressed a brief kiss to her lips, just before doing the same to the valley of her breasts. He stopped to admire the fact she didn't move in the slightest, knowing the girl to be a light sleeper.

He sat up slightly, moving himself to be positioned between her thighs. He tugged the sheets covering the bottom half of her body and placed another kiss just below her belly button. He sat up again, on the verge of slipping himself inside her when he felt Daena's nails dig into his right thigh.
