Rhaegon and Rhaenyra had spent about an hour watching a play about their family. It had been a jest about Rhaenyra and how many hoped Aegon would be king instead. Solely due to the fact he was a boy and not a girl.

"Lies, slander!" Rhaenyra shouted out in a low tone, keeping up with her boyish look, "Boo!"

Rhaegon smiled slightly and shook his head. "Jest if you will, but many of the smallfolk are like to believe that, as a male, Aegon should be the heir," He explained and Rhaenyra scoffed.

"Mm. Their wants are of no consequence," Rhaenyra argued, earning a proud smile from her cousin.

Rhaenyra turned to leave and Rhaegon immediately began to follow her. "Actually, they're of great consequence if you expect to rule them one day," He reminded her in a calm tone.

"For one night, I wish to be free of the burdens of my inheritance," Rhaenyra muttered, feeling annoyed by the fact that even outside of the Red Keep, she was still reminded.

"And so you will, Princess. It is why I've brought you out tonight. So you can understand why I left, so I could know what life is like outside of the Red Keep," He explained to her, earning a smile from Rhaenyra.

Seeing a man holding out a platter of food, Rhaenyra moved toward him and grabbed a piece.

"Four coppers, street rat," He demanded and Rhaenyra frowned in confusion, having never had to pay for something in her life.

"Do you have the money for that?" Rhaegon questioned and in return, Rhaenyra threw the food at the man selling it.

"Stop! Boy!"

He was on the verge of chasing after her when Rhaegon grabbed his arm, stopping his. "Wait, I'll find him."

He began to smile, running to catch up to her. It wasn't long before he found her in an alley way, having been stopped by Ser Harwin Strong.

Seeing that the man had already recognized Rhaenyra, Rhaegon sighed dramatically. "You owe me, Ser Harwin," He announced and the older man turned to him, sighing in defeat.

He turned back to Rhaenyra, who looked worried that she had been recognized. "You take care, boy. Next time you might not be so lucky," He simply said, just before walking away.

He moved past Rhaegon, shooting him a disapproving look before disappearing to return to his watch.

"Enjoy that, did you?" Rhaegon questioned and Rhaenyra laughed.

"Who knows when I'll next taste freedom?" Rhaenyra replied and Rhaegon grabbed her hand to hold.

Rhaenyra glanced down at Rhaegon's hand holding hers, a childish giggle escaping her lips. She felt excited by it, for even that small touch felt exhilarating.
