Chapter 42

It is after midnight hours... I will do my best to not go to crazy!

I sit down at the lunch table, like always. The only person that isn't currently here, is Nova. She usually shows up later because she goes out for food, and that thought unsettles me after what happened at Chipotle. If I was't there then no one would have known about it at all. It really fucking bothers me now, knowing she could be out getting food right now and some perv could be trying to pull some shit. 

Toni and Elio pull me out of my thoughts when they sit down. 

"Damn. What did that napkin ever do to you?" Elio asks. I look down and see the napkin I had grabbed, now crinkled up from the death grip I had on it in my fist. I just shrug at him.

Jax ends up also coming and plopping down as if we all weren't here. I still don't know how I feel about the guy. 

"Hey Jax! Did my sister go and get some food somewhere again?" Elio asks. Well I guess he knows how he feels about the guy. He mine as well ask him to move in with them with that enthusiasm. And at that point he should just let him room with Nova and call him his brother in law. 

Not that it matters.

"Actually no. She decided to just get something from here instead. She is in the line." He says while looking over his shoulder. We all follow suit. 

"Ah shit." Toni says under his breath. He runs a hand over his face before letting out an annoyed grumble.

"Fuuuck." Elio says.

I see Valentina approach Nova, and that means hell is about to be let lose.

'"I'm guessing the girl means trouble?" Jax says.

"Yes." Toni says.

I watch as a small smirk forms on Jax's face as he turns around to face Nova and Valentina completely.  

"How is that funny?" I ask with a glare. I mean the guy claims he is her best-friend, and he is gonna be amused when trouble shows up at her door? Fuck that. 

Not that I care what type of friends she has around.

"Nothing. But whats her face, is messing with the wrong girl." He says.

"Lets go." Elio says to his twin as he goes to stand up, only to get cut off by fucking Jax. I mean what kind of name is Jax anyway? Is it short for Jaxon? Like what the fuck.

"No no. Don't interfere. Trust me, your gonna wanna just watch the show." He says.

"Yeah but we know Valentina, she is trouble, and that is our sister being sucked into her drama." Elio says.

"Yes, and I think you are forgetting I grew up with your sister, so I know your sister. And trust me, if Valentina is as much trouble as you say she is, well then she is in for a treat. So just trust me on this one, and if it goes south, then you don't have to listen to me next time. But it isn't going to go south... Well in the Nova will be completely fine sense." He says.

"Fine. But if you are wrong about this I am kicking your ass." Toni says.

"Since when did you care?" Jax asks. And I just know if Nova was over here she probably would have slapped him upside the head. I wish I could slap him upside the head.

"Shut the fuck up." Toni says.

Valentina starts to get all up in Novas face and I know everyone at the table is on edge. Well other then Jax, he decided to say, "Oh this is gonna get good."

But when Valentina went to slap Nova, and everything went silent, the mood changed around the table

"Ohhh shit." Jax says, with a quiet chuckle.

That one move was all it took for Toni and Elio to snap. The stood up fast, ready to go defend their sister, when Jax thought he could speak again. "Relax guys, just watch the show." 

"Are you fucking kidding me? You want us to stand by while some bitch tries to attack our sister? What the fuck kind of friend are you? Did you use to do this shit in California? Stand back while people go at her?" Toni snaps.

"No. But Nova has got it under control. Trust me, she wouldn't want anyone to interfere with what she is about to do-" He says, but gets cut of when a loud scream echos around the room. "Ah, the famous broken wrist." He says. 

I mean I know Nova can handle her own, she is Rose after all; but Jax just seems a little too calm about this. Like what if that was a guy that tried to slap her?

"So Jax." I say. "If that were a guy up there instead, are you just gonna 'enjoy the show?'" I ask.

"Fuck no. I am gonna enjoy the show, and then join in." He says.

I scoff and turn back to see what is happening now.

Nova has Valentina on the ground with a foot by her neck. I don't know why, but the sight is a turn on. I shift in my seat slightly, and adjust my pants. I see Jax catch me in the corner of my eye. And his smirk turns into a smug grin with an eye roll. 

Its not Nova that is turning me on, its just the strength, and how she handles the situation. Like she doesn't care about the people in the room, she doesn't do it for them, it could just be her and Valentina and she would do the same thing. It could be literally any girl in that position, and I'd be turned on. Nova standing there with her long jet black hair and determination on her face, has nothing to do with it. That is my best friends sister, I wouldn't do that.

Nova makes Valentina say something to everyone in the room, but I am not listening, to zoned in on Nova's movements and how she reacts. 

Jax then snaps me out of the weird trans I seemed to be stuck in, which has me clearing my throat.

"See, I told you she had it under control."

"Did she handle it? yes. Was that under control? Probably not. But will I high five her for it? Most definitely." Elio says, as he watches his sister from afar like she is his idol.

But I can't say anything, because that was pretty fucking hot.
