"Mary! I am so glad you made it." I say while hugging her at the door.
"Of course. I have to meet the boys who have brought back that sparkle in your eyes." She says with teary eyes.
"Mom I told you no tears." Jax says coming in from behind her.
"Sorry I just couldn't help it." She says, and Bullet comes bolting in and right over to Mary. "Oh and look at you. You have gotten so big." She says while bending over and petting him behind his ears.
"Well come this way. Everyone just got out of a meeting, so you came at just the right time." I tell her guiding her through the room. Just as we walk into the living room everyone walks in from the other entrance just in time for Mary to see Toni slap Elio upside the head. I turn to her giving her a slight smile and she just gives me a bigger one back mumbling 'siblings.'
Enzo looks up and sees us enter and uses his hands to straighten his suit before walking over. Always formal with that one.
"Guys this is Mary, Jax's mom. Mary, these are my brothers, Lorenzo, Matteo, Marcello, Antonio, and Angelo." I say.
Lorenzo sticks his hand for her to shake which she takes. "It is so good to me you all. I am so glad Nova has you all." She says.
"It is good to meet you. Thank you for taking care of her for us while we couldn't be there." Lorenzo says.
"Oh please, is that what she told you? This girl is family and will always be like the daughter I never had, but she didn't need me to take care of her." She says glancing at me with a smile full of admiration. "She seemed to have her life more put together then I did, I am just glad she allowed us to be apart of it." She said.
"Well from what Nova has told us it doesn't seem you are giving yourself enough credit, and we still appreciate it." Matteo chimes in also shaking her hand. Watching all my family together puts a relaxed smile on my face, and I let out a content sigh.
"So whose hungry? I know I am." Elio says and everyone turns to stare at him. Mary lets out a little chuckle.
"Oh jeez. Have Jax and him met yet?" She asks me.
"Yes. And on the first day they were already sharing snacks." I tell her with an eye roll as we walk into the dinning room.
"And Jax hasn't replaced you?" She asks sarcastically.
"Replace Nova?" Jax gasps. "I could never." He says with a hand over his heart. "No literally I don't know what she would do, but she would do something if I tried." He says and I let a creepy smile make its way to my face as I look at him. "Stop that shit." He says while playfully shoving my face.
We all take a seat around the dinning table. Talking, Mary sharing some stories from when we were younger when Jax decided to jump in.
"But it wasn't my fault, really. I think it was the bike. It had some type of malfunction." He says.
"No, Jax, You just kept holding down the throttle and not hitting the break." I say.
"No! I did hit the break it just didn't work."
"Sure Jax we will go with that." I say. "Anyway that is how Jax almost killed me the first time we were riding on motorcycles."
"Well to be fair, Nova almost killed me once when-" Jax goes to say but gets cut off by Mar.
"Once?" He asked with an eyebrow raised.
"Oh, yeah good point." Jax says and I shake my head.
"Jeez you guys, I feel the love." I joke.
"It is okay. I love you even when I think my last breath will be by your hands" Jax says with a smile.
"haha you are soo funny."
"So Mary, Nova told us you had a Cafe?" Matteo says.
"Ah yes I did. Business was slowing down though and I couldn't keep the kids away from each other so I sold it and moved here. I have been working on opening one, but you know how it is. Always a process." She says with a sigh.
"Yes it is. Well if you ever need any assistance its the least we could do." Matteo says.
"I appricate that." She says. "It has been really fun getting to know you guys, but I should probably head out, it is getting late. Thank you for having me, and I know I already said this, but-" she glances at me and winks. "Just thank you."
Lorenzo stands up as do the rest of my brothers and we all walk her and Jax out the door. "You guys are welcome here anytime." Lorenzo says.
When the leave we migrate into the living room. "Thank you guys for having her over." I say.
"Of course Sorellina. I am really glad we got to meet her. She seems like an amazing women." Matteo says.
"She is." I say with a smile.
"Do you guys want to watch a movie?" Toni asks.
"Yes can we watc-" I go to say before getting cut off by everyone
"NO"
"Oh come on you didn't even let me speak."
"You have chosen enough movies, its my turn." Mar says and I roll my eyes.
"You know, you guys have had so many years here without me, taking turns choosing movies. I just- it makes me feel like I am making up for lost time. You know?" I say with fake teary eyes.
"That isn't going to work this time." Toni says. And Mar turns on the tv.
It is very quiet for a minute before Lorenzo says "Oh for fucks sake." And takes the remote from Mar and throws it at me. I smile in victory before scrolling through the choices.
"Oh come on!" Mar says. "I thought we all agreed not to cave this time!"
"I know but- the teary eyes- I just saw her when she was two and I couldn't help it!"
"It's okay Enzo." I say. "Your sacrifice is appreciated."
"Don't chose anything stupid." Toni says.
"I never chose anything stupid. Oh! Have you guys ever seen She's the Man?" I ask. "We are watching that. Ugh Channing Tatum is just-"
"I will take that remote-"
"Nova-"
"I can't even argue and I am straight"
"Stop-"
"This is why you shouldn't have taken the remote from me"
All my brothers ramble, but we all cut a look to Elio and I smile at him.
