Nova
He knows. He has to know.
Is he going to tell my brothers? I mean why wouldn't he?
Jax and I found out he is a Perez. He has been close with my family for years, and he has only had limited interactions with me. Most of which have not been pleasant. So he has no reason to keep a huge secret of mine. One that will change the way my brothers look at me.
It would bring more questions I am not ready to answer.
Jax was able to get his number, and now I am sitting here trying to figure out what to say.
Meet me at the park down the street. 2:30am.
I read it over for 5 minutes straight before sending it.
I quickly type out another message right after.
Don't say anything- at least until after. Please.
After sending it I wait for a reply. I know he will know it was me. If he can't figure it out he could easily find out on this phone.
I pace around my room for another five minutes until it shows he read it. I continue to wait for a reply, but still none.
10 minutes later, no reply.
I see how it is... He is going to show up, I have a strong feeling he will. He wants answers, and he also wants me to suffer with the suspense. But what he doesn't know is that I am also Wendigo. I won't suffer with the suspense wondering if he will show or not, no that is not how we are. People like us always want answers, and he knows I don't want my brothers to know. This gives him an upper hand, a small source of power to hold over me.
I said 2:30 to make sure my brothers would be asleep while I left. I know there is an important meeting they have early in the morning, so they will need the sleep.
------------
When 2:15 rolls around, I leave the same way out my window the night of the fight. Although this time I am not hot wiring a car.
As I get closer to the park I get more anxious. What questions is he going to ask? Am I going to have to come up with more lies? Is he going to try and pull anything?
I mean, I guess he most likely wouldn't try to pull anything... But worst comes to worst I am prepared if it comes down to that. As always I have my knifes hidden away, and I have one of my guns with me as well.
I get to the park just a few minutes before 2:30, and now I am left to waiting. It would not surprise me at all if he showed up a few minutes late to be a jack ass.
I lay back on one of the platforms kids run up through to get to the big slide, and just wait.
I decide to watch the stars, wondering how I got here, and how this is my life. I mean out of all the shitty cards to be dealt, how did I end up with this one?
"Rose." I hear a low voice say.
I didn't know we were using our fighting names to address each other.
"Ripper." I say in return. I am still laying watching the stars, but I can feel the way he stiffens by how much I know.
I stand up, preparing myself for the conversation that is about to take place.
I meet his gaze while he is leaned against one of the poles that hold the structure. He is just watching me, observing me. Trying to figure out what my next move will be, like I am going to attack or something.
"I don't want you to tell my brothers."
"I don't really think you are in a place to be making demands." He says with a scoff. "You think I shouldn't warn them that their sister isn't as innocent as they think? That she is actually an underground fighter? An underground fighter who has made quite the name for herself may I add. Who is at the top of the list, and has potential of claiming the number 1 spot after her fight with-" He cuts himself off. So he knows about my fight with Cage the following month.
"Do you know who you are fighting next month?" He asks.
That's a stupid question, how could I not? "Yes. Obviously." I say with an eye roll. "I am fighting Cage."
"No. I mean do you know who you are fighting." His eyes narrowing. "I mean you knew I was the Ripper, so tell me. Do you know who your fighting next month?" His voice full of demand and seriousness.
"Why would I tell you that?" I ask. I mean I actually don't know who it is, I never really cared enough to look into it.
"You have no idea." He says quietly, more to himself.
"What are you talking about?" I ask warily.
"It's just you figured out that I am the Ripper somehow, but you apparently have no idea who Cage truly is." He says like he is enjoying this.
"I never really cared to know who my opponents actually were... Do you know something?"
"Oh I know more then a few somethings now." He says with a slight laugh.
"Do you know who I am fighting?" I ask.
"Aren't I supposed to be asking the questions, cariño?" He says with a smirk.
"Just answer the question, Pretty boy." I say spitting back the name I called him when we first met.
"Yes." He simply says. And that is all I need to know for slight panic to fill my body. For my brain to start working on overdrive of any and all possibilities. How could he know who I was fighting? Well I guess the same way I knew he was the Ripper. That helped calm my nerves slightly. Jax and I did some good research before I came here tonight. All he needed to do was the same.
"Well, care to enlighten me on who I am fighting? If not I guess I could figure it out myself." I say trying not to let my curiosity show.
But what I wasn't prepared for, was that the next 4 words that came out of his mouth to alter everything.
"One of your brothers."
