Chapter 59

Nova

By the time its halfway through school and time for lunch, I am already done with the day. I just want to go home and nap even though I wouldn't be able to do that. I make my way over to the table and plop down next to Jax. 

"Hey sunshine."

"Hey." I reply to him, and then I get an idea. "Jax, you down for a late night ride like old times?"

"Fuck yeah, its been to long." 

"What's been to long?" I hear him before I see him. I look up and watch as Andres sits down, but not in his usual seat. No because that would be to complicated for him. He had to sit directly next to me on the other side that Jax isn't on.

"Oh we have a late night ride with our names on it tonight." Jax says to him. 

I look over to Andres before speaking. "What are you doing here?"

"What do you mean I always sit at this table."

"You know exactly what I mean. Here. Next to me. Your spot is over there." I say nodding my head in the direction of where he normally sits.

"Oh sorry, were there assigned seats?" 

Before I can reply I hear my phone vibrate

Fredrick Bolo. Child Rapist. Gang leader. 12 green street. 

Kill him by  5:00 pm today. 1million

Is the text I receive anonymously.

"Holy shit." I say under my breath. Jax and Andres look at me while I stand up. This is a particularly large sum which means this guy messed with the wrong fucking child. 

"What is it?" Andres asks looking at me with concern.

"I have to go take care of- something." I say remembering not everyone at the table is aware. "Jax can you tell my brothers I have to cut out ad will see them back at the house?"

"Of course but-"

"Why are you cutting out." I hear Toni from behind me. I turn around to see both him an Elio. 

"I have something I need to do."

"Like what?"

"Like my job."

"What kind of job needs you while you are at school?" Ryder asks.

"Oh um- She is desperate her husband is being brought into the hospital and we are already understaffed."

"Oh that's sad." He says.

"Yeah so I gotta go."

"We will go with you." Toni says, and just like that Andres is also standing.

"Thanks but we aren't that understaffed." I say shooting Toni a glare.

"Yeah but sometimes having a few extra pair of hands can come in handy." Elio chimes in.

"Guys." Jax cuts in. "Nova may only have one pair of hands, but under some circumstances it can seem like she has more." 

"Yeah really its a one person job."

"You aren't going alone." Toni says in final tone.

"Fine." I say but they aren't coming. Before anyone can think I take off towards the door. Jax being the bestest friend ever stands up to try and slow them down, but that only puts them a second behind me before they are also taking off.

I take off out of the cafeteria door before sprinting for my bike. I have never been so glad to have it in my life. 

My brothers hop in one car while Andres gets on his own bike. I start to pull out of the parking lot with them not too far behind me. I weave through the traffic, but so do they. When I get on the highway it is thankfully a little backed up. I start lane splitting which thankfully loses my brothers since they can't do that in their car, Andres on the other hand is still behind me.

I quickly take the next exit and head down the first side street I see before taking a left onto another street. When I look behind Andres is not there. Thank fuck.

  I pull over and put my maps in to the destination the random person sent me and take back off on the road. It takes me about 45 minutes to get there, but when I do I ride down to the next street over to have my bike over their instead of near this bastards place. 

Now, he is a gang leader so I have to suspect other people around just in case. Maybe that is why its 1 million. Since their might be collateral damage.

I get off my bike and make sure all my knifes are in place before putting one gun behind my back and the other in my hand under my sleeve. I start walking the street when I feel a hand grab me from behind and another hand come around onto my mouth dragging me backwards. He clearly saw I had my gun in my hand because he has made it so I can't use it.

I wiggle trying to out of their hold, but at this angle the only way I could do that was by making myself even more vulnerable. 

The guy who has me starts to pull me down an ally and now I am realizing my struggle will do nothing.
