Tanya's POV.

My eighteenth birthday just passed, and I had a few more tests coming up.

I was getting more and more busy.

I was sitting at my desk, surrounded by textbooks and notes, trying to cram for an upcoming history exam.

My mind kept wandering, though.

Thoughts and memories of what happened that night in the sunflower field just kept creeping into my head, even when I tried to focus on studying.

I could still feel the ghost of his touch on my skin, his breath against my ear..

I forcefully pushed the memories away, taking a deep breath to try and clear my mind.

It was no use trying to think of something that probably wouldn't happen again anyway.

We were both caught up in the moment, nothing more.

I was probably reading too much into it.

I leaned back in my chair, closing my eyes and massaging my temples.

This was the last thing I needed right now.

Suddenly, I heard a knock at my apartment door.

I got up to open it.

It was Daniel.

"Uh, hey?" I said.

"Hey, Tanya.. I have a favour to ask."

He paused.

"Could I come in?"

I frowned, surprised to see him there.

But I stepped aside to let him in.

"What's up?" I asked, closing the door behind him and motioning for him to sit down on the couch.

Daniel sat down, looking a bit nervous.

"Look, I know you're really busy with studying, tests, and all, but I really need your help with something." He said.

I sat down in the chair next to the couch, crossing my arms.

"What kind of help?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"So.. as I told you before, I'm a famous actor and model.." He started.

I nodded, remembering him saying something about it a while ago.

"Yeah, got that memo," I said, unable to keep the hint of sarcasm from my voice.

"Well.. I need a girl to be my girlfriend for this one event.." Ge quietly said, "I kind of told them that I had a partner and that I could bring her.. but I don't.. And I was thinking.. Maybe you could be my fake partner?"

My eyebrows shot up in surprise.

"You want me.. to be your fake girlfriend?" I repeated, just to make sure I heard right.

"Just for one event.. Please, Tanya.." He pleaded, looking at me with puppy dog eyes. "It's a really important event, and I can't show up without a partner. I'll pay you for your time. Please, I'll owe you one..?"

I sighed.

Should I really do this??

I looked back in my room, my desk visible from where I'm sitting.

And I thought, 'Maybe this could be an opportunity to get out of my comfort zone for a bit.'

"Fine." I said, "You don't need to pay me anything, I'll do it."
