Tanya's POV.

"GIRL, WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS???" Brandon practically yelled through the phone.

"YOU'RE DATING THE ONE AND ONLY DANIEL RICHARDS??" He added.

"Yep." I answered, disinterested.

There was silence on the line.

It was deafening.

"Tum jyada excited nahi lag rahi.. (You don't seem excited about it..) Everything good?" He asked.

"Uhh,"

I sighed.

"Kaise samjhau.. (How do i explain..)"

"Abey bata naa (Just tell me)!!" Brandon exclaimed.

I sighed once again.

"To tell you the truth.." I started, "We're not dating. It's.. It's a fake dating strategy."

"WHAT???" Brandon yelled.

I pulled the phone away from my ear.

"Kuch zyada hi overreact karte hai tuhh (You overreact way too much). Yes, it's a fake dating strategy." I repeated.

"Why? Why the hell are you fake dating the guy??" He inquired, still sounding shocked.

I took a moment to answer.

"It's complicated.." I said, not exactly sure how to explain it and how much information I should share.

"Bata naa (Just tell me)!" He repeated, not willing to accept any half-explained answer.

I rubbed my forehead, sighing once more.

"Alright.." I started, "Promise me you'll listen and not interrupt, yeah?"

"Uh huh. Tell me everything." He agreed.

I took a deep breath and prepared myself to tell Brandon the entire situation...

And so, I shared the whole story with him, from the fake dating arrangement, to the details about Darren, Daniel, Anika and more.

By the end, he was silently listening, and I couldn't gauge his reaction.

After a moment of silence, Brandon finally spoke.

"Damn.." He simply said. "That's.. that's a lot to process."

I nodded, even though he couldn't see me.

"But.. You have any feelings for Darren?" He questioned, his voice slightly serious.

I couldn't lie to him, so I admitted the truth.

"Yeah," I said, "I do... I like him."

There was a moment of silence, and then Brandon spoke again.

"And what about Daniel? How do you feel about him?"

"Daniel?" I let out a hollow chuckle. "Well, he's a good guy.. But I don't feel anything for him. It's just an agreement between us."

Brandon hummed, seemingly processing the information.

"Girl, you're in a tough spot, huh..?" He said, his voice laced with sympathy.

"You could say that." I replied, a bit bitterly.

I was in a tough spot, which was true.

Caught between two guys, one with whom I couldn't be with, and one with whom I didn't want to be with.
