Darren's POV.

Again, another chance lost..

God, why did I always get interrupted..?

It was time for P.E. in school, and we were going to have a volleyball match with the younger students.

Oh God, Tanya stood there in her P.E. uniform.

She got her hair tied and an extra hair tie around her wrist.

I tried to keep my cool and focus on the match, but damn, it was hard when she was right there.

Our teams had been set up, and I was on the other team from her.

Each time the ball was in play, I couldn't help but steal glances at her.

She had a graceful and determined expression, really getting into the game.

The game of volleyball was intense.

Tanya wasn't exactly the most athletic, but she tried her hardest.

Each time the ball went her way, I felt a burst of anxiety wash over me.

What if she missed?

What if she got hit by the ball?

Damn, why was I always so nervous around her...?

Surprisingly, Tanya managed to hit the ball, albeit not very well, and it was our team's point.

Everyone cheered, and I couldn't help but smile as I saw her face light up.

God, she's just so damn adorable.

As the game progressed, I found myself becoming less and less focused on the actual match.

My eyes were always on Tanya, following her every move.

Watching her laugh, her hair bounce with each movement, the way her uniform clung to her..

I was a hopelessly smitten idiot.

At one point, I accidentally let a ball hit me in the face because I was too busy watching Tanya.

"Dude, you okay?" My teammate asked, looking concerned.

I just nodded, trying to hide my embarrassment.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Just zoned out." I replied quietly, rubbing my forehead.

Despite the minor embarrassment, the game continued.

I could feel my heart racing whenever Tanya got the ball, like it was the most important moment in the world.

At one point, she looked over at me, our eyes meeting for a brief second.

The world seemed to slow down, and for a moment, I swore I could hear my heartbeat in my ears.

The game eventually ended, and their team won.

I was still stuck in a daze to even care though.

Tanya was laughing and chatting with her friends again, looking happier than ever.

I was supposed to go over and talk to her.

But, again, fear gripped me, and I stayed rooted in place.

As I stared miserably, I suddenly felt someone nudge my side.

Anika.

"Better luck next time, babe." She said,

I jumped at her sudden presence, having been completely absorbed in my thoughts up until that point.

"What?" I managed to mutter out, my mind still fuzzy.
