Darren's POV.

I went out to buy a ring.

I was going to propose to Tanya.

But the thing was, I wasn't sure what ring to buy—money wasn't the problem

It was the ring itself.

What colour would she like?

What design?

While thinking that, I decided to call Isaac.

The phone rang a few times before Isaac picked up.

"Hey, Darren. What's up?" Isaac's voice came through the other end.

I exhaled, smiling.

"I'm out shopping for a ring." I said casually, looking at the rows of rings in the jewellery store.

There was a pause, and then Isaac's voice came back, sounding surprised but also happy.

"Seriously? You're finally gonna pop the question, huh?"

I chuckled and continued browsing the selection of rings.

"Yeah, I think it's about time. But to be honest, I'm stuck on what ring to choose. I don't know what Tanya would like."

Isaac's voice became more serious as he considered my dilemma.

"Well, you know Tanya better than anyone. You should consider her personality and style when picking out a ring. Does she prefer traditional or modern designs? Does she have a favourite gemstone or metal type?"

I thought hard, trying to remember any hints Tanya might have dropped.

"She's never really mentioned anything about jewellery, except that she prefers simple, understated pieces. Nothing too flashy or extravagant." I said, recalling her style.

Isaac hummed thoughtfully on the other end.

"That narrows it down a bit. Sounds like she would prefer something understated and elegant. What colours does she gravitate towards? Silver, gold, or rose gold?"

I thought for another moment.

"I've noticed that she wears a lot of silver jewellery, so I was thinking maybe a silver ring. But I'm not sure if I should go for a simple band or something with a few diamonds."

I was feeling a little overwhelmed by all the options in front of me.

Isaac's voice comforted me.

"It's a big decision, I know. But trust your gut. You know Tanya, and she'll appreciate the thought and care you put into choosing the ring."

He paused for a moment and then suggested,

"Maybe you could look for a ring with a little diamond. She'd love it."

I nodded, feeling reassured by his words.

"Yeah, you're right. I'll look for a silver ring with a small diamond. It sounds like it would be her style."

I continued browsing the selection, trying to find the ideal ring.

Isaac continued to give me advice.

"Remember to consider the setting and the size of the diamond as well. You want something that's not only beautiful but also durable and comfortable for her to wear every day."

I mentally noted his suggestions.

"Right, durability and comfort are important, too. I don't want to get something that's going to irritate her skin or anything."

I finally spotted a ring that caught my eye.

"I think I just found one."

Isaac's interest was piqued.

"Oh, yeah? Describe it to me."

I held up the ring to get a better look.

"It's a slender silver band with a small diamond in the centre. The design is simple and elegant, just the way Tanya would like it."

"That sounds perfect, Darren." Isaac's voice filled with contentment. "I think you found the one. You know Tanya—she'll appreciate the understated elegance of that ring. She'll love it."

I smiled, feeling more confident in my choice.

"Yeah, I think you're right. I'm going to get this one. Thanks for your help, Isaac. I appreciate it."

There was silence.

"Wait, I got a missed call from Tanya. Well, you buy that ring, and let me talk to Tanya." he said.

"Alright, I'll buy it. Bye, Isaac." I said before I cut the call.

I went to the counter and bought the ring, feeling excited but also a little nervous.

I wondered what Tanya was calling for...
