Smoker's eyes flutter open to reveal a white ceiling. He groaned, feeling a sharp pain in his back. The events of the battle came rushing back, and he cursed himself for getting distracted.

If he's back at HQ, it means the mission was successful. He sighed in relief, but his concern immediately shifted to you. Were you alright? The realization that he had left you during the battle weighed heavily on him.

He tried to get out of bed, searching for something to cover himself. A couple of nurses arrived, attempting to stop him.

"Smoker-san, you're not fully recovered yet. Please calm down and rest!" one of them urged.

He grunted in protest, trying to push past them, his focus entirely on finding you. The thought of what Asai had tried to pull off made him seethe. If you were wounded badly-

The commotion inside the room was interrupted when the door suddenly opened, revealing a (h/c) young woman holding a bouquet of bluebells. You looked both confused and amused.

Smoker's face flushed red as his heart skipped a beat. Damn it, he had to get over this.

"Am I interrupting something?" you mused.

One of the nurses huffed in exasperation. "Smoker-san is trying to get out, (Y/N)-san!"

You chuckled and smiled brightly. "I'll handle this. You ladies can go now."

With that, you stepped aside to let the nurses leave, your gaze never leaving Smoker's.

As the nurses exited, their frustration evident, you turned your full attention back to Smoker.

He looked at you with a mix of relief and embarrassment. "You're alright," he said, trying to sound casual, but his voice gave away his concern.

You offered him a reassuring smile. "I'm fine. Thanks to you, we made it out of there. And thanks again for letting me check on you."

Smoker's eyes softened at your words. "I didn't think-"

"Don't worry about it," you interrupted gently. "We both had our moments. Right now, you need to rest. I'm here to make sure you do."

He nodded, but the worry in his eyes was still apparent. "And you? Are you sure you're alright? Things got pretty messy."

You chuckled softly, pushing aside any negative thoughts and deciding to keep them to yourself. "I'm fine, really. The focus should be on you. Now, why don't you settle back down and let me handle things for a bit?"

Smoker hesitated, still clearly worried, but slowly eased back onto the bed. His gaze remained fixed on you, a blend of gratitude and concern on his face.

You placed the bouquet of bluebells on a nearby table, their vibrant colors a striking contrast to the sterile white of the hospital room. "I brought these for you. They're supposed to be calming. Thought they might help."
