Chapter 36: A boring day

"We're finally here!" Usopp exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement.

You hummed in thought, approaching the railings of the ship to see the familiar sand stretching out across the horizon.

Finally. I was starting to get bored~ you thought happily, eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"We're finally gonna walk in the desert!" Usopp added, beaming.

"Must be pretty hot... I heard temperatures can go over 50 degrees Celsius during the day..." Sanji muttered.

"What?!" Usopp and Luffy exclaimed in unison, their disbelief palpable as they processed the cook's words.

You couldn't help but sweat drop at the thought. 50 degrees Celsius?! You gotta be kidding me! you mentally panicked.

Great, this was it. You and Shiro were going to die from heatstroke.

It was already a miracle that you managed to survive the journey here without passing out from the heat. Not that you were weak, but the desert's relentless sun was really starting to get to you. If only you had more comfortable clothes...

And it seemed heaven heard your prayers.

"♡(Y/N)-Swama♡! I have an extra dress just for you!" Sanji cooed as he approached you, his arms swaying in a noodle dance.

"Really, Sanji-kun? My~ You truly are a knight in shining armor~" you said sweetly, adding a playful wink.

Sanji, predictably, got a massive nosebleed but somehow managed to stay upright long enough to hand you the outfit.

After a couple of minutes, you emerged from the girls' quarters, beaming. Most of the crew stared at you in amazement, some with light blushes at how good you looked. As for Sanji, he was once again struck with a nosebleed so massive, you started to genuinely worry. What if he died of blood loss? That would be troublesome.

Luffy and Chopper, being the adorable duo of cinnamon rolls they were, didn't seem to care much. But they did think you looked pretty.

"There's no way you are going out in that, (Y/N)-san!" Ace protested, his face bright red. He knew his sister was gorgeous, but showing off like that in this kind of place? Not a chance.

You clicked your tongue, annoyed. "Shut it, Ace. I like this better than my previous clothes, and it's so hot here. I might die of a heatstroke!" you huffed.

Nami and Vivi, standing nearby, smiled with slightly flushed faces.

You were currently wearing a dancer's outfit styled for Alabasta, similar to Nami's but in a vibrant red.

"(Y/N)-san, you look beautiful... but it's too revealing. You might burn your skin if you walk around the desert wearing only that..." Vivi said, her voice laced with concern.
