You grimaced as you looked at the two warlords. Doflamingo was busy annoying the grouchy Crocodile. At first, flamingo bastard showed no interest at the other warlord, but when you hit Doflamingo on the head, he paused—if only temporarily, since that hit had clearly hurt him—and then switched to bothering the older man instead.
The three of you were perched on someone's rooftop in the middle of the night. You sat at the edge, resisting the urge to feed the two of them to Yami.
It was evident that they both despised each other, especially Crocodile, who clearly didn't want to be here. You couldn't help but wish they would just kill each other and leave you in peace.
Man...
"Are you two fucking?" you blurted out without thinking, mentally slapping yourself for the slip. It just crosses your mind because of the tension on both of them. Don't most people act like they hate each other when they are attracted to each other? The more you love, the more you hate. Ah, fuck. That sounds so disgusting.
Both men froze and turned to you, staring blankly. Just then, you felt sand swirling toward you. You easily dodged the attack, only to sense another one coming—this time from strings.
"My bad," you said, attempting to diffuse the awkwardness.
Crocodile's expression darkened as he shot you a glare, the annoyance practically radiating off him.
"I'd rather die than touch this abomination," he said, disgust written all over his face.
"Fufufu~ The feeling is mutual," Doflamingo replied, a grin stretching across his face as he sauntered away. You could tell that your question bothered him too, even if he masked it with that playful demeanor.
It made you want to burst out laughing, but you quickly stifled the urge. You were keenly aware that provoking either of them could end badly for you tonight. Not that they could kill you, of course, but the thought of tangling with them was less than appealing.
But at least they stopped.
The stench of something rotten hit you, sharp and foul, causing your eyes to narrow. You stood up, all your senses heightened as you scanned the area. The two warlords grew cautious at your sudden change of behavior, their attention shifting to you.
Two soul-eaters.
Yami warned, and you nodded, feeling the tension rise. They were around the island, and you could sense them getting closer, the stench a grim reminder of their presence. Your instincts kicked in, alerting you to the danger lurking nearby.
You felt the two warlords approach you from behind, their presence heavy with uncertainty and annoyance.
"Whatever you do, do not touch any unfamiliar things that they own," you warned without looking at them.
You didn't hear a reply of agreement, but you couldn't care less. It was on them if they died from their own stupidity.
