Chapter 37: A Duel Between Siblings

"Well?"

"Do you see Nami and Vivi yet, (Y/N)-san, Luffy?" Ace asked and you blink innocently.

The two of your eyes widen in realization and look around frantically.

"I think..." you sweat drop and held the sleeping smaller Shiro on your arms closer to your chest.

"...We are lost" You finished and laugh nervously.

"NANI?!"

You groaned in annoyance as your mood shifted like lightning.

"Geez, Ace. You are such an idiot! You were the one following Luffy and the others, so how the hell did we get lost?!" You raised your voice, glaring at Ace, who was walking in front of you.

Ace huffed, his back still turned. "You should have noticed it too! You're walking behind me, so you're also an idiot!"

Without thinking, you hit him behind the head with your fist.

Ace face-planted into the sand, and you forced out a smile as an irk mark appeared on your forehead.

"Say that again. I dare you," you said, your voice dripping with a playful menace.

Groaning in pain, Ace slowly picked himself up. "Calm down, geez," he mumbled, rubbing the spot where you hit him.

You tsked, turning to continue walking. After a long stretch of silence, the two of you suddenly heard a strange noise. You halted, and Ace frantically looked around.

"What was that noise just now?" he asked, a hint of nervousness creeping into his voice.

Rolling your eyes, you replied, "It's none of our business. Just keep walking so we can find the others. Thanks to your idiocy."

Ace pouted. "You're still angry about that? Geez, are you on your period or something?"

Once again, you hit him on the head. "You're on thin ice, ya little shit."

Ace quickly apologized, his eyes wide as he stood up again.

Suddenly, a giant pink scorpion burst from the sand in front of you. You and Ace exchanged deadpan expressions of disinterest.

The scorpion's sting moved ominously closer to you. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," Ace warned.

In the end, you ordered Ace to burn the annoying creature, which he did without protest.

As you resumed your search for the Straw Hat Pirates, you were interrupted by yet another annoying creature—a lizard this time.
