You came back to the captain's quarters, relieved to find that Dark was already gone.

His confession was unexpected. Something you didn't expect from a man like him.

Your face remained emotionless as you returned to studying the journal Dark had given you.

Standing over the table, you placed your hat on the furniture and ran a hand through your hair, releasing a sigh.

What you said to him might have been hurtful and cold, but it was the truth. You always saw him as the perfect agent, the only person in The Pillars who you knew could surpass you in almost anything.

You always thought you had similarities to that man. But it seemed you were wrong. Unlike you, he was still human. More human than you, even if you claimed you were more humane than him.

How ironic.

He might have been forward because there was a big possibility that neither of you might survive this. How funny.

Love. That's something you can't feel. Perhaps it's a curse? Man, whatever. Who cares anyway?

You sat back in your seat and opened the journal.

You needed to focus on the task ahead. You knew Dark would get over it. He had to. He must.

You would not die on that fucking island. You made a promise to Garp, and you would keep that fucking promise.

Your eyes darkened as you tightened your grip on the journal, feeling the weight of the pages as if they carried the burden of your future. And once this mission was over, you would start enacting your plan. A plan that would shatter The Pillars and bring down the World Government itself.

A plan that would change everything.

Your small ship stopped at a safe distance from the island. Whether the enemy knew you were already in their territory was a mystery for all of you.

It didn't matter. You would destroy every single one of them.

"Is everyone ready?" you asked your fellow Pillars, and they all nodded. You glanced at Dark, who was now back to his usual self. He nodded at you with those cold, guarded eyes of his.

You felt relieved seeing that.

Good. You knew he would understand.

"Make sure to keep your black spirits asleep. I'm sure you all noticed how different their spirit's scent is from ours," you explained as you adjusted your hat. They nodded in agreement.

That's right. Their scent was disgusting. There was a large difference between how half-blooded Niverians and soul-eaters smelled. By putting your black spirit asleep, you would lessen the scent of both the spirit and your inner soul.

Only the most powerful ones would be able to sense the five of you.

"What about Shiro? He'll stay here?" Maki asked, patting the feline on the head. Shiro purred, and you nodded.

"Yes. They'll smell him. And we need someone on the ship. We might need this ship to contact the facility," you answered, and she nodded.

"And how about the full-blooded ones? How do we know they're one?" Leo asked.

"By their scent, Sicarius. You're asking the obvious," Dark answered, and Leo glared at him, blushing.

"W-what?! I am just making sure! If we can cover up our scent, I am pretty sure they can do that too!" Leo retorted, and Louise sighed, placing a hand on the shorter male.
