Akainu hates your guts. The way you talk back to him and refuse his orders makes him want to either kill you or fire you—kick you out of the Marines for good.

But he knows better than that. He understands he can't do anything, even if he begged to. He's aware of the existence of The Pillars and how crucial that organization is to the World Government.

On top of that, Garp has claimed you as his granddaughter—the hero of the Marines.

The Pillars sent you to him to discipline you, but how can he discipline such a strong-willed brat?

As the days go by, you grow more stubborn, as if you're evolving with each passing moment.

The fire within you burns stronger and larger, threatening to engulf everything in its wake.

"Err... Why do I need the Shichibukai for this?" You tilted your head slightly as you looked at Akainu.

"Because I said so," he replied curtly, carefully tending to his bonsai. It surprised you how gentle he could be.

You'd thought he was just a feral dog, barking and biting at everything around him.

The sea is truly full of mysteries.

He was even comfortable enough to wear a loose kimono.

In the three months you've been under his supervision, you've done a lot of things.

When he acts stupid and arrogant, you make sure to retaliate. When he tries to control you, you do your best to piss him off. When he orders you around like a dog, you make trouble for him to fix. And when he tries to reason with you, you argue.

It's become an everyday routine for the two of you.

Lately, though, he seems to be trying to remain calm—almost like he's meditating to prepare himself for your presence.

It amuses you how he tries not to kill you so badly.

"That's stupid. I can handle this alone," you scowled, defiantly crossing your arms.

He's sending you to an island rumored to be the manifestation of soul-eaters. The asshole has been ordered by your superiors to continue your work despite being far from the facility. It's obvious what the assignment is—cleansing.

"Doflamingo and Crocodile will be doing more than just aiding you in cleansing," he said without looking up from his bonsai.

You rolled your eyes. "So they're babysitting me. How insulting."

"There are... complications on Sabaody I know you won't be fond of. Their job is to ensure you don't lose control," he added as you handed him a freshly brewed tea, which he accepted with a nod.
