“Huh?"

Parang nabingi ako sa narinig. No other words came out of my mouth, and I was shocked. My jaw dropped as I looked at her with wide eyes and parted lips.

But before they could notice my reaction, I quickly cleared my throat and composed myself, trying to mask my shock and act as though my question was completely normal.

I just waited for her to speak again.

I bit my lip and quickly looked away.

“How did you know that?"

I pressed my lips against the cold, smooth rim of the glass as I glanced at Liz once more, just after Lucy had asked her a question.

I'm just trying to calm myself because I don't want to get angry.

“Maybe that's the tsismis you were referring to earlier," Cassy laughed. “Mukhang para kay Shiera nga talaga iyan." She shook her head and drank the wine from the glass she was holding.

I  took a deep breath and once again, I cleared my throat before forcing myself to speak. “Why did you suddenly ask that?" I asked normally, as if I was just confused. “May nalaman ka ba tungkol sa kaniya?"

She nodded her head proudly and she even clapped her hands. “Yup! I saw him two days ago yata ’yon. I'm not sure pero nito lang ’yon. He was with a girl."

Two days ago?

That was the day I slept for a few hours because of what happened to us.

“Anong oras?" I asked curiously.

“I think around seven in the morning."

It was around seven in the morning, but I woke up around five in the afternoon. So does that mean he left and went out while I was still asleep?

Liz winced. “Wala namang magkaibigan ang nagli-lips to lips matapos magyakapan."

The sound of my pounding heart echoed in my ears after I heard those words. My heart beat rapidly as my brain processed what Liz said.

Saij kissed and hugged another girl.

Why does it hurt me as I imagine him hugging and kissing someone else? Why does my heart ache? Why do I feel something strange, that I never felt before?

Is that real?

My lips formed a straight line as my mind went blank. Suddenly, I lost my energy. I can't imagine myself falling for someone who is already in a relationship.

Am I falling for him?

“Ano naman ngayon kung may girlfriend siya?" It was Cassy. “There is nothing wrong if he has a girlfriend."

I looked up at her.

“I just wanted to ask Jane if she knew about that. And I just want her to know in case she doesn't know."
