Autumn had a rough evening, she was up all night tossing and turning. All she wanted to do was sit at her desk all day drinking her coffee and work in peace. When she walked in she was met with a very apologetic stare coming from Marjorie.

She raised one eyebrow and stared her friend down. "What." She stated frustrated. "Soooo... Carly called out sick today, and sorscha is out on leave, I'm gonna need you in the rooms today." Marjorie said slightly flinching knowing autumns response.

Autumn rolled her eyes before placing her stuff at her desk. "You owe me." Autumn grumbled before making her way to the preschool room. When she entered she was greeted with Charlotte. At least she was with someone who was actually incredibly good at their job. "Oh Autumn hi." Charlotte said smiling softly. "Charlotte. Looks like we're working together today." Autumn half smiled.

Over the past few years the two had grown a friendship. One that both women appreciated. Autumn still wasn't too supportive of her and Mia's relationship, but she could see how hard Mia was trying, and so long as the redhead didn't hurt her friend she couldn't be happier.

As Charlotte went to handle breakfast Autumn took care of the morning handovers. "Hiya!" A parent cheered happily as she entered. This was the newer parent Vivian. She was new to town and Autumn always seemed a bit nervous around her. "Hello Vivian." Autumn said professionally. "Remember you can call me Viv." The dark haired woman replied and winked at the younger woman.

Autumn bit the inside of her cheek while doing her best to keep a straight face. Vivian smirked slightly seeing how she made the brunette speechless. "Anyway, Jamie had a good nights rest, he's ready to go, I'll be back tonight to collect him." Vivian smiled trying not to cause too much attention towards the speechless brunette. Autumn simply nodded and took Jamie to the breakfast table.

Vivian watched as Autumn took her son's hand and walked away, she could help but smile at the two of them together. I walked out and the whole way to my car all I thought about was Autumn. I felt drawn to her cold demeanor, I knew under all that stubbornness was a woman who just wanted to be loved. And I longed for that to be me.

Right before I was about to end my shift we had someone come racing into the ER. Gunshot wound. I sighed and picked up my phone calling the nursery. "The knight nursery this is Charlotte." I sighed, "hiya Charlotte I'm so sorry I'm going to be late. I'm stuck at work." I said nervously. Truthfully I was more worried about the late fee. I made decent money but I really couldn't afford it after just recently moving.

"Oh Viv it's not problem at all either Autumn or I will be here when you return." I smiled and said "thanks char!" Before quickly hanging up and returning to my work.

Charlotte made her way down to Marjorie's office to let her know Vivian was running behind. Marjorie simply smiled and said she was fine to wait with whoever else stayed behind. Now the hard part was telling Autumn. Charlotte would offer to stay but today was her day with the girls she had to leave on time.

"Heyyyy Autumn, how's things going in here with Jamie?" Charlotte said nervously. "Fine, where's Vivian?" Autumn asked getting straight to it. "Well, she sort of running late. I'd offer to stay but I'm supposed to go pick up my girls." Charlotte said closing both eyes nervous for her response.

Autumn rolled her eyes. "Very well. I'll wrap up here." Autumn said annoyed but also slightly excited to see the dark hair woman again. Charlotte smiled before making her way out to her car and heading home.

"Well Jamie, what would you like to do while we wait for your mama?" Autumn said watching the little preschooler in awe. Jamie really was an adorable kid, he had his mothers bright blue eyes, dark brown hair, and his moms freckles.
