Carly's phone continuously going off woke her out of her restless sleep. The young girl groaned as she turned over and opened her phone. She had become a big fan of this influencer over the past few months and she had recently made a fan account. She was slowly teaching herself how to edit and even though she was proud of her edits other people online seemed to only see the negatives.

Every morning the young girl woke up to more comments on her page all knocking her down. They would send her death threats, tell her how awful she was at editing, even some of her friends and family would make fun of her for liking this influencer calling her childish or weird. Carly knew better than to read the negative comments but every morning on repeat without fail she would sit there and read every single word.

Today however the comments seemed to be worse than normal. She had made an edit talking about how this influencer saved her life but so many of the comments were death threats or other horrible comments about her. She put her phone down and curled up into a small ball as tears came pouring down her face. She held herself tightly trying her best to soothe herself but nothing seemed to work.

So Carly did what she does best, she needed to feel something. Anything at all. Her form of self harm was quiet, typically unnoticeable because it left no marks. She turned the shower on to the hottest setting and just sat underneath the pouring water allowing it to burn her skin. She covered her mouth to muffle her sobs so her mom wouldn't hear her and be worried.

Once she got done in the shower she stood and got herself ready. She put on her usual the dye hoodie and some baggy sweats before walking downstairs to leave for work. She wasn't hungry so she just grabbed some water and sat on her porch waiting on Reece and Marjorie. She sat there reading the comments over and over again until til she heard Reece's car pull up.

She took a deep breath before putting on her fake smile and climbing in the back seat. "Goodmorning my love" Marjorie smiled as she glanced back at the young girl. "Morning Marjorie, hi Reece!" Carly said trying to act normal. She didn't want her work parents seeing her dying inside. "You alright my love?" Marjorie said immediately picking up on something slightly off. "Hm? Yes I'm good! I didn't sleep as much last night I was trying to catch up on bridgerton." Carly lied trying to change the subject.

Marjorie dropped it and they made their way to the nursery. Luckily Carly was placed with winter today so her slight change in mode would go unnoticed by the room leader. She knew if she was with Charlotte the brunette would've figured it out immediately and Carly wouldn't be able to lie to her. Her whole day just felt like it dragged on. The young girl felt numb like she had no reason to even be there. She felt as if she were to disappear right now no one in the nursery would even notice or care.

She was allowing her thoughts to get to her and she knew she shouldn't. But it was too late. Once the day came to an end Carly made her way up to the staff room looking for Charlotte. When she spotted the brunette she ran up to her and hugged her tightly. "Oh! Hi Carly!" Charlotte said returning the right hug. "Hi chat I haven't seen you all day so I just wanted to give you a hug." Carly lied. She knew she was saying goodbye but the brunette had no idea. After her encounter in the staff room she headed down to meet Marjorie. Reece was already waiting outside for her and Marjorie. Marjorie wrapped her arm across Carly's shoulders giving her a small squeeze just letting her know she was there. "Are you sure you're alright my love?" Marjorie asked again her mama bear instincts kicking in as she stared at the sweet girl. Carly just nodded and leaned her head in Marjorie's chest just taking in Marjorie's embrace for the last time.
