Marjorie was really struggling, she knew her feelings for autumn were changing. She loved autumn she knew that, but it had changed from loving autumn as a friend to loving autumn romantically. She wasn't even sure Autumn felt the same way. This was also the first woman Marjorie ever had feelings for. Sure she kissed her friends when they were younger, as a way for them to experiment. But she never had romantic feelings for them until Autumn came along. She wasn't sure if this was just a phase that would go away with time or something more than that. She decided to stop by charlottes after she got off work, if anyone would know how she was feeling it would be her best friend. Marjorie anxiously drove to the brunettes house every possible thought playing through her head. As she walked towards her front door she took a deep breath before knocking. "No turning back now." She said quietly to herself.
When the door opened Marjorie was greeted with not Charlotte but Mia. "Marjorie." Mia said fully with an eye roll. "Mia." Marjorie replied sighing. They two women still didn't get along but they were trying for charlottes sake. "Is Charlotte here? I need to speak with her." The brunette said anxiously. Mia could tell something was on the brunettes mind and she slightly pulled back on the sarcasm. "She went to collect her girls, she'll be about 30 minutes. You can come in and wait if you want. I'll do my best to tolerate your presence." She said moving out of the way to let her in.
Mia and Marjorie sat in silence in the kitchen. Neither one really knowing what to say to the other. Marjorie's leg was bouncing up and down as she messed with her hands nervously. The red head just watched her, she suddenly started to worry for the brunette but she would never admit that out loud. "S-sorry, I'll just go and come back another time." Marjorie said getting overwhelmed. She stood up ready to leave before the red head sighed and spoke up, "Marjorie wait. Sit down. What's wrong" she said bringing out the tone typically reserved only for Charlotte and her girls.
Marjorie turned and looked at the red head. When she saw the Mia was genuinely asking her what was wrong she slowly sat back down and took a shakey breath. "Um, well I.... Mia when did..... how'd you know....." Marjorie stopped talking. She was starting to get very overwhelmed. It reminded Mia times when the knight siblings would have anxiety attacks. She always knew how to handle them. "How do you like your tea Marjorie?" Mia asked standing up and going to make the two of them tea.
Once Mia retired she sat slightly closer to the brunette. "Take a deep breath. Don't rush. Talk to me when you're ready." Mia said helping ground Marjorie back to reality. Marjorie took a moment to collect her thoughts. "Mia when did you know you had feelings for women." Marjorie finally asked. The red heads eyes widened in shock. She wasn't expecting this to be the way their conversation went. She could tell there were more underlying questions but this is where the brunette felt safe enough to start.
"Well, I'm not sure exactly. I guess I kind of always knew. Even when I started dating Reece. I think I had crushes on girls all through school but never identified them as crushes, just as best friends." Mia said honestly. She knew the more open she was the easier it would be for the brunette. "H-how did you know you had feelings for Charlotte?" She asked looking to the ground nervously. Mia looked at the brunette curiously trying to gage where this conversation was going but she couldn't put her finger on it.
"The first time I saw Charlotte she took my breath away. After speaking to her for the first time she wouldn't leave my head. All I could think about was Charlotte. I found it hard to sleep, or even eat because she consumed my being. I felt this overwhelming sense to protect her." Mia said a smile forming on her face thinking about her sweetheart. Marjorie just nodded nervous to move to the next question.
Mia didn't pry, and she didn't push. She was going to let Marjorie lead this conversation. "How do you know if someone feels the same towards you? Especially if they're not good at showing emotions." Marjorie said hoping that second part didn't give too much away. "Truthfully Marjorie unless you ask them you'll never know emotions or not. Why are you asking me this?" The red head finally questioned wanting to know what was going through her head.
"I think I have feelings for someone, I think I've had them for a long time. But I'm terrified to ask and risk ruining our friendship. I've been alone most of my life. This nursery changed everything for me. I found some of my closest friends that will forever be my family. But the idea that if I tell this person they'll never speak to me again terrifies me." Marjorie said her anxiety starting to bubble up. She took a few sips of the tea and it helped calmed her right back down. She had to admit Mia was good at keeping people calm.
The red head finally connected the dots. She smiled slightly at the thought of Marjorie and Autumn. She saw the way Autumn stared at Marjorie, how her eyes lit up when the brunette walked into the room. The way Autumn would go to the ends of the earth to protect her. She had known for awhile Autumn had feelings for her, but she never expected Marjorie to feel the same way. "Autumn." Mia said gently. Marjorie's eyes widened as she looked at the red head. "W-what?" Marjorie said nervously.
"Marjorie it's ok. You should talk to Autumn. I've never seen that girl protect anyone the way she does with you. Marjorie I see the way she looked at you when you're not looking. Or how her demeanor changes when you walk into the room. If that's not love I'm not too sure what is." The red head said with a small smile.
"Y-you think she feels the same way?" The brunette asked hopeful. Mia simply nodded and placed her hand on Marjorie's knee. "Go talk to her." She simply said with a smirk. Marjorie took a deep breath as she stared at her tea. She nodded to herself before standing. "T-thank you Mia." Marjorie said slightly wincing hearing that come out of her mouth. Mia smirked, "if anyone were to ever ask if I helped you I'd deny it." The red head replied. Marjorie slightly let out a laugh, "I'll deny ever asking for it." She said before turning around and stopping in her tracks when she saw Charlotte stood in the doorway smiling from ear to ear.
Both Mia and Marjorie's eyes widened. "Hi char.... How much of that did you hear?" Marjorie asked nervously. "Enough. Go talk to her Marjorie. Also.... I love seeing you two get along." Charlotte said with a small giggle. Both women rolled their eyes and glared at the other before Marie swiftly left the house to drive to autumns.
Marjorie drove quickly to the younger knights house afraid that if she went slow her nerves would get to her and she'd turn to leave. She walked up to autumns door and knocked gently. Marjorie stood anxiously waiting for the door to open. When Autumn opened the door she was confused but slightly excited to see the brunette standing there. "Marjorie? What can I do for you?" She said doing her best to hide her excitement.
Marjorie took a deep breath, "can I come in for a moment I need to talk to you about something." The brunette said confidently. Mias words sticking with her the whole time. Autumn moved out of the way and invited the nursery manager inside. Once they were sat in the lounge Marjorie just blurted it out. "Autumn I really like you." Autumn looked at the brunette confused. "I-I have feelings for you. Well I wasn't entirely sure I did but then I went and spoke to Mia and it all made sense. And then I came directly here because I couldn't waste one more minute without telling you. But you're also my closest friend and I don't want to lose you in my life completely so if you don't feel the same I completely....." Autumn interrupted Marjorie's speech. "Marjorie..... breathe." The younger brunette said with a smile in her face.
"I have feelings for you too. I've had them since I started at the nursery." She said moving closer to the brunette. Marjorie's eyes lit up at autumns response. "I've wanted to ask you so many times if you felt the same but i backed out everytime." Autumn said as she cupped marjories face in her hands. autumn leaned in slowly and closed the gap. both women showing off all the love they had for eachother in this kiss.
As they pulled away marjorie stared lovingly at the brunette. she couldnt believe she was here, and most importantly she couldnt believe it was because of mia that she was here.
