Andrew sits on the short walled fence, smoking a cigarette while Aurelia stands only a few steps away from him talking to her friends. Ones that he never thought she would be so close to. Sometimes He forgets that she's just as well off as the rest of them. Except, she doesn't really act like it. As she hugs Nina and the guy with Aiden's face, the one he can't seem to ever remember the name of, Aurelia makes her way in his direction. Class has started back up, which means that he needs to buckle down, and work hard if he wants to graduate. It's the least he could do for his old man.
"Drew." She calls his name softly, snapping him from his thoughts. As she stands between his legs, he tilts his head and watches her stand on her tippy toes so she could kiss him.
Of course, he didn't reject it, he kissed her. It wasn't an intense one, but a really quick one.
"You seem so stressed and distracted these days." She comments, wrapping her arms around him, looking up at him from her spot on the ground as he sits elevated from it. He would slide off the wall, but she seems like she enjoys looking up at him. They were practically the same height, she's maybe an inch or two shorter.
"I'm just not used to it yet." He tells her truthfully, watching a few people who recognize him glance in their direction as they walk past.
"And I definitely won't get used to that." He nods towards the people who just walked by. Aurelia turns to look at them before looking at him again.
He loves her eyes. They were just like Elijah in a sense that he could look in them and forget about his fucked up reality. He wished he had a pill to shut these thoughts up, but he promised not to touch them, he promised that he wouldn't become an addict.
"I guess people are shocked to see you..." she murmurs softly before cupping his cold face with her warm gloved covered hand. "But that doesn't mean anything. The Drew I know loves the attention. Show them at the performing arts event. You know the one you guys hold for the freshman with no majors? Show them that you're back, I know you can."
Her words of encouragement made him grin. He leans down and kisses her once more. "You should get going. I'll call you later."
Aurelia nods and smiles. As she walks away, towards the direction of her department building. Drew pushes off the wall and adjusts his hoodie. He skips steps up the stairs and walks through the glass doors. When he gets inside, someone bumps into him, making him look back to see who it is. Genesis hood falls from her head. Drew almost didn't recognize her. She looks... sick. Like a whole new person.
"There's our favorite boy!" Sean's voice reigns through the semi empty hall. Andrew takes another second to look at her before turning away to greet his friend and the other dancers.
