Aurelia had her legs drape over his lap while they sat in the park together. Elijah went into the cafe not too far from where they are to get them some lunch, but nothing too big. As they wait, Aurelia sketches something in her sketchbook, and he had one of his earphones in his ear trying to find the right song he should male a choreography for. He changes the song, sighing deeply, closing his eyes as he tries to figure it out.
Aurelia pokes his cheek with the end of her pencil, getting his attention. He looks over at her. His heart racing as she smiles at him.
"Yes, Angel?" His tone held annoyance, but he wasn't annoyed with her. He was annoyed with himself for not finding the song by now. He didn't even pick the seven people he wanted to dance with him.
"You seem so stressed out," she pouts and scoots closer so her face is only an inch or two away from his. "Do you need some help?"
"Help? No." He puts his phone in his hoodie pocket and lifts her on his lap, making her look around, wondering if people are staring at them, and of course they are. "I do need your opinion."
"This is so weird, let me sit next to you." She whines, pushing him back and scooting herself back in her spot.
"I wanted to go contemporary," he explains after chuckling at how panicked she got sitting on his lap in public. "But there are only three contemporary dancers who are seniors, and she does jazz contemporary mostly. Then the other two are me and Sean. There's a ballet dancer, which could work but..."
"But?" She pushes, just as Elijah comes back with his coffee and the everything bagels for him and Aurelia.
Elijah kisses her cheek and sits next to them, causing Andrew to turn his body a bit as he speaks to include Elijah in the conversation.
"But, I'm known for my hip-hop choreography." He finishes, watching Elijah hum, resting his arm on the back of the bench. "Almost twenty percent of the Seniors are hip-hop dancers. So choosing seven will be hard because they are all amazing and deserve this opportunity. It's still amazing that they are willing to give me a spot."
Elijah hand plays with his hair sitting on the back of his neck. He was meaning to get it cut, but he hasn't found time to do it. "I know it's an assignment as well as an opportunity, but why are you doing this?"
Aurelia tilted her head at the question, and Drew mirrored her expression. It was a stupid question to ask, especially when he already answered his own question.
"Eli, he has to, it's an assignment." Aurelia tells him, but Elijah shakes his head.
"That's not what I mean," he says, sitting up to turn his body towards the both of them. "It's only stressful and frustrating right now because you forgot why you're really in the dance major."
