Elijah sighs deeply, his heart pounding against his chest, and his eyes roaming the hard wooden door. This was the last day. This was the last day he was allowed to sit on the burning question. Will he truly step away from his family? Marcello gave him the ultimatum, but his reasoning was vague, Elijah didn't understand why he needed him to choose his decision wisely.

On top of that, he began sprouting out bullshit about his father. A man who he had never met, a man whose name has been dragged across glass in mud every time he steps foot around his mother's family. A man who his mother never fails to remind him that he shares a face with. Elijah didn't care about his father, frankly none of that matters, and when he told Marcello this, he mentioned following Aurelia. Telling him that his decision wouldn't affect anything he had with Drew and Aurelia. He never talked about her with his family, so the only way he knew about her, if he had been following her.

"Here goes nothing." He murmurs to himself, nodding to the two men out front to open the door for him.

Now, now his turn to ask the questions, and he won't be around the bush with them. He will only be direct.

Elijah walks inside and he stops in his track, the scene in front of him made him gag before turning away. Why would he tell him to show up at this time if he was currently with his mother, doing the unthinkable.

"What the hell!" Elijah shouts startling his mother, because she screams right after.

"Why are you here!?" She screams. "Marcello what is he doing here?"

Elijah's eyes are still on the floor, not sure it's safe to look. It wasn't like he saw his mother naked, but seeing her straddling someone who's kissing her everywhere but her lips, it's obvious what was taking place. After a few moments he could hear his mother's footsteps approaching him. He slowly turns around and there she is standing in front of him with a light frown.

"I'm here to give my answer," he tells her before looking over her head to the male who's adjusting his clothes. "Mother. Leave us."

She scoffs and places a hand on her hip. "Why? What are you here to give your answer for? An answer for what?"

"Leave us." Marcello says, causing his mother to gasp dramatically and cross her arms as she turns to face the man he was actually here to see. "Now."

"You're suddenly having secret meetings with my son?"

Marcello chuckles and walks around his desk and approaches his mother. He leans down and whispers something in her ear, his eyes on Elijah as he speaks. He shifts uncomfortably, his jaw clenches as he watches the man press a kiss to her forehead. Like magic, he somehow convinced his mother to leave them alone.

"Quite the stubborn one," Marcello chuckles, walking back to his desk, sitting on the corner. "I can see where you get it from. Please have a seat."

Elijah frowns at the comment before walking over to the seat. He looks around before sighing as the male just watches him closely.
