After the meeting, me, Obi-Wan and Rex swiftly made our way over to the cannons and waited. At first, we tried to overwhelm the shield with repeating fire from the cannons, but it was no use, so we had to fall back and wait for the enemy to come to us.
"We're inside the shield. Just stay away from those tanks." Obi-Wan said, shooting me a knowing look, I just grimaced and jumped over the wall we were hiding behind. Clone troopers started to zipline from the surrounding buildings and the battle resumed.
I destroyed droids left and right, but did as Obi-Wan said and kept myself from attacking the tanks. From time to time, when I got swamped with droids, I Force-pushed them away or crushed a few, but mostly I just sliced them with my lightsabers, to sustain my energy for as long as possible. The last thing I want right now, is to pass out from exhaustion.
I noticed Obi-Wan and Rex held up behind a wall, so with a few long strides I joined them, listening to the plan.
"The shield has almost reached the heavy cannons." Obi-Wan stated, checking our surroundings for any droids, who would wish to interrupt our small meeting.
"We're not gonna be able to stop them, sir." Rex said. I exchanged a look with Obi-Wan, quickly coming up with our next move.
"Move your troops back to the heavy cannons. Do everything you can to protect them. We'll delay the droids." Obi-Wan said finally, motioning between him and me.
Rex wanted to object, but Obi-Wan shut him down fast, as a battle droid neared our position. I stood up before he could, and sliced the droid into thirds. All of us then shared a nod and carried on with the plan.
Unfortunately, we weren't able to destroy more than half a dozen droids, before another wave surrounded us.
"Obi-Wan?" I asked, wondering what we're going to do now, because although I try to be optimistic, there is no way we can take all these droids on and survive.
"Don't worry, I have a plan. Just follow my direction." he said as he turned off his saber. I shot him a confused look, but didn't ask further, and turned off my sabers like he did.
One of the tanks stopped in front of us, and somebody came out who I can only guess is the General of the Droid army. "You must be the infamous General Kenobi and the Jedi pretender, Morana." he said.
I clenched my fists and was about to lash out at him, but Obi-Wan brushed his hand against my arm, telling me to cool down, then he said: "We surrender." I looked up to him with wide eyes, but then remembered that it was probably just a part of his plan and diverted my eyes back to the General.
One of the droids came to us and snatched away our lightsabers. I grimaced, but did nothing, hoping Obi-Wan's plan was as good as he confidently executes it.
"Now, Master Kenobi, order your troops to stand down." the General said, but Obi-Wan had apparently other plans, as he moved together a bunch of debris and made a sort of table with three seats. Oh, I see where is he going...
"General have a seat." Obi-Wan invited, gesturing to the seat before him, with that sweet playful smile.
"Have you gone mad?" the General asked, a genuine look of confusion plastered all over his face. Funny he should say that, I'm thinking the same thing. I expected something like this from Anakin, but when I think about it, Obi-Wan is really good with words, so maybe he can negotiate us out of this, or at least stall.
"I've conceded the battle. Now we simply have to negotiate the terms of surrender." Obi-Wan explained almost innocently. Well, this is either going to be very fast or very long...
