"Da- Master!" I call out while running through the hall of now well forgotten home. I was small, barely able to reach the controls of the doors. I pressed the red button without waiting for approval of my enter, and ran inside the still dark room.
I didn't know if I was being ignored by the figure laying under the sheets of if he was still sleeping, but I didn't care. Yesterday he told me that he had something special prepared for today, so once my eyes fluttered open thanks to the bright, morning sunlight hitting them, I sprinted out of bed.
"Master! Master! Master!" I climbed on the bed, jumping up and down to wake him up. "Get up!" I shook him until he looked at me, confirming that my attempt at waking him has worked.
He shot me an annoyed glare as he grunted, turning away from me again, covering his face with the blanket he was under.
"Up! Up! You promised!" I said, climbing over him to remove the blanket off his face.
"I didn't promise anything, I merely informed you." he yawned, his yellow eyes burning into my red ones. Some would shy away under that stare, but I didn't. I knew him well enough to know that he was pretending. So, I just stared at him back, my expression begging for answers.
"Fine..." he huffed, giving up, as he swung his legs over the bed, sitting up.
"Yaay!" I bounced on the bed in celebration, before sneaking up behind him, grasping his horns in my tiny hands and leaning over his shoulder. "So, what is special today?" I whispered, the excitement bursting through my body.
"You'll find out soon, Ezra." he answered, getting up. I wanted to whine and protest against his answer, but only a shriek came from me, when I was now dangling in the air, the only support being my dad's horns tightly held in my hands.
He stumbled back a little, before balancing out. "Ezra! Hang on a little!" he chuckled, his neck forced to strain backwards, given the additional weight on his head.
I broke into a fit of laughter when I wrapped my legs around his waist, pointing forward. "Go, go!"
"Oh no, no." he said, taking a few steps back, until his feet hit the bedframe, and them he threw me on the bed. I let out a breath of surprise when the air got knocked out of my lungs, but then it got replaced once again with unstoppable laughter.
It didn't help when my dad started tickling me, and not stopping despite me screaming at him to stop. Tears prickled in my eyes, as it started to get hard to take a good breath, all because of the giggles.
When I took in a breath, after what felt like ages, he was gone, and I was no longer on Dathomir, but on Coruscant, in my Temple room, alone. I sat up, turning my head to check the chrono: 0540. I rubbed my eyes, taking a deep breath in and out.
Well, this was new. I don't even know how to feel. Before, I only had nightmares revolving around him. Don't know which I despise more, the haunting nightmares, or my mind trying to justify him. I don't understand. I haven't even thought of him lately, finally satisfied, and now I start to dream about my childhood with him.
I got up from my bed, making my way to the refresher. I stared at my reflection, noting the few small scars that I gained over the years. My hair also grew longer since Obi-Wan cut almost all of it off four years ago, in a desperate attempt to save what Anakin ruined the night before. It was now just below my cheekbones, messy. Other than that, nothing much changed. It's still me looking back.
Washing my face with cold water, I try to clear my thoughts, but it didn't work. I guess I have to take this deeper. I don't have anything planned for today anyway, and I'm sure Obi-Wan won't protest against me meditating in my free time. Although, he doesn't need to know the reason behind it.
