I sit on a couch in silence, reading the reports on Senator Amidala's assassination attempt, Anakin is in a seat across from me, his mind is swarming with so many thoughts, that I don't even have to read his mind to hear them and it's quite disturbing. Not in the matter that he would worry me, after all, it's not like he isn't like this almost always, but it's making it hard to focus on the letters on the datapad.
So, after a little while, I give up and set the datapad on the table in front of me. As I look up to him, I think about what to say, I don't want to discomfort him further and even though I don't much care, I know I probably should and I want to help him.
I don't have to ask him what's wrong, I know what. He's been acting like this since the senator greeted him. I didn't really notice, but he's assured she didn't even recognize him and she doesn't care about him at all. It's pretty amusing, watching people take a liking to someone, they're so oblivious.
Anyways, he's acting too grumpy, even for him, and that is bothering me. I'm the non-stop annoyed one in this group, so he's gotta pull it together. But before I can get a word out of myself, the door of the apartment open, Obi-Wan walking in.
"Captain Typho has more than enough men downstairs. No assassin would try that way... Any activity up here?" he said, Anakin getting up from his seat and walking up to him, I stayed on the couch, but my eyes followed them.
Captain Typho is a security guard of Padme's. I talked to him a little when Obi-Wan and Anakin were arguing about the mission, well he was actually talking to me, but whatever. He has only one eye, but he is almost harmless. He's not bad, I suppose.
"Quiet as a tomb." Anakin answers his Master's questions and then carries on with his worries: "I don't like just waiting here for something to happen to her." Before Obi-Wan could say something on his concerns, a beep rang out from Obi-Wan's datapad.
"What's going on?" he asked with confusion, when he saw nothing but darkness on the camera footage from the Senator's room.
"Oh, she covered the cameras. I don't think she liked me watching her." Anakin answered quickly, his face turning slightly red. -Anakin, you are so obvious, it seriously hurts...
"What is she thinking?" Obi-Wan said as he made his way over to Padme's bedroom door in big steps.
When Anakin went on to explain our plan to his master, I felt something tingling in the back of my head. I stood up and walked over to the window, seeing nothing but the many busy speeder lanes and buildings, nothing out of the ordinary.
So, I shrugged it off and sat back down, not moving my eyes away from the window, not because of the view, definitely not that. I know something is going on and I'm not resting until I figure out what.
After a while though, the three hours of sleep I got last night got to me and I dozed off. Thankfully, my friend the Force woke me up in just the right moment, as an alarm rang through my head. I basically ran to the window to get a look. It seemed the same as before, just darker, but the Force told me otherwise.
I observed closely, and then I spotted something moving in the corner of my vision, a droid cutting right through the window in Padme's room.
I rushed past the arguing Jedi duo, not caring about the reason of their bickering, striding straight towards the bedroom door. As I did, their heads turned and I heard Obi-Wan's voice: "I sense it too"
