70. Clean Up and Helping Chloe

                         Yuki's POV

After running away from a monster in human form for a while I noticed that Kagali was late in meeting up with us. It appears that my plan to get her captured by the eastern empire was a success. Now I will have a place to fall back to when the opportunity to run from Rimuru is available. After all my own desires and safety come first before anything else. I will not have someone be above me in the hierarchy of rulership over the world. My first plan was perfect but then that dam beast had to come in and ruin everything. Luckily it seems that the east has beings capable of dealing with a monster like Rimuru and Veldora so finding safety there is my best option until they can't handle the brunt of Rimuru's wrath anymore. Then I can take over the eastern empire for myself without much fuss.

The difficulty part is making it seem like I didn't help orchestrate Kagali's capture by the eastern empire. Luckily I have Laplace here with me to help convince Rimuru of my supposed innocence. Now however I must focus on playing dumb and making this all seem like Rimuru's plan went wrong somehow to Laplace. By using if necessary Damrada who Rimuru told me about as a fallout of why the plan was exposed.

Yuki- "Where is Kagali? She's supposed to be here by now so we can return to Tempest together."

Laplace- "I don't know boss. Maybe she ran into some trouble nearby and will be delayed?"

Yuki- "Hmmm. Then could you go and see if you can find out where she is and help her if necessary. This is making me feel like Rimuru's plan went wrong somehow."

Laplace- "You got it boss."

After he said that he went to find Kagali on his own leaving me to deal with this human monster on my own. Luckily Tempest is where I shall be soon and then I can escape to the east after throwing Rimuru off my trail. I still can't believe that the east empire wants her as a hostage and as a useful asset to creating more deathmans like the other clowns. It doesn't make sense to me but I might be because I'm not be seeing the whole picture yet. Perhaps it's to let some spiritual life form incarnate into the deathmans but I'm not sure.

I guess it matters not since I'll be leaving this thing on Rimuru's doorstep so he can deal with it and possibly gather information for myself on his strength as well. How exciting to be back in the drivers seat for world events again.

Rimuru's POV

After Shizu and Luminous finished off Granbell I was free to move as I pleased. So I started to immediately free Veldora. I then planned to eliminate Micheal but the enemy army retreated and escaped. So I went back to helping with coordinating cleanup operations and waiting for Yuki to show up with Chloe's older body and Hinata's soul. Though it seems that I'll need to educate him to actually do as I wish. After what Ciel told me he did.

Ciel- "Yuki gave away information to the empire about Kagali being your daughter."

Rimuru- "He what?!"

Ciel- "He told the empire about Kagali so he could be given amity to join the empire. Likely so he can conquer it for himself eventually."

Rimuru- "I see. This will help me show Kagali that Yuki is not worthy of her compassion at least. Do you have a plan to free her from the empires clutches then?"

Ciel- "I do."

Rimuru- "Good. Then you can explain it to me later. First we shall give Yuki a deserving punishment for crossing me after I was so lenient with him before."

Ciel-" Agreed I shall help you give him a punishment worthy of harming one of my daughters and putting her in harms way."

After she said that I felt a chill down my spine. It made me feel assured that his punishment would be worthy of the highest degree. Also speaking of the rat, here he is with Chloe in tow.
