New York, United States
June

I will never forget his desperate look that broke my heart. I felt miserable seeing him like that and I couldn't help him. The broken look on his face hurt me terribly.

I was surprised by it myself, but I couldn't control it. Sure, I was slightly upset that I was forced to leave his house, but on the one hand, I understood.

Something serious had happened and he had to deal with it. But on the other hand, something was also happening to me that scared me a lot, and he was also a part of it. I didn't know what to do.. should I just let it go and ignore it?

A tattooed and muscular man was digging a hole in my back. I had him behind me all the time until the gate, where he threw me out very nicely. I guess I could feel his gaze somewhere in my neck.

"You're going to leave now and never come back, do you understand?" I turned to him when the gate opened.

"Please?" I raised my eyebrows.

"I think you got it right Shannon" he was talking to me like I was some kind of disgusting and annoying parasite.

"No, she didn't understand that." he was looking down on me and no, it wasn't because of his tall stature, but because of his tall ego.

"I guess I don't know what you're up to?" he laughed, "I know that kind of woman." I crossed my arms over my chest and narrowed my eyes.

"Tell me, what type of women do you have in mind?" he grinned and moved closer to my face.

"Brushes." I pushed him away with my hand and slapped him so hard that his head turned to the other side. I turned my back on him and left without saying a word.

What did you think of yourself?

I muttered under my breath when a green Lamborghini stopped next to me and the car window slowly rolled down.

"Hi, Shannon. Do you remember me?" came his rough voice.

"Yes," I nodded.

"William called me to give you a ride," I narrowed my eyes.

"Really?" I asked him and he nodded. After much thought, I finally got into his luxury car and he joined the traffic. His house disappeared from my sight.

"How long have you known each other?" I turned my head to him and raised my eyebrows.

"It will be a few weeks," I answered him.

"Do you like my little brother?" he laughed and I furrowed my brows.

"Probably yes?" it sounded more like a question. It was impossible to say exactly, because I don't even know..

I didn't want to stare at him for a long time, but in that black tight t-shirt that highlighted all his muscles and in plain black jeans, he looked just like... but just completely different from William.

I watched the events outside the window when I noticed that he turned towards the airport, "Where are we going?" I looked at him scared.

"To the airport," I swallowed and my stomach did one big somersault. I shook my head and took a deep breath, "Is something wrong, Shannon?" I closed my eyes and tried to think about something else..

"Why are you taking me to the airport, Maximilian?"

Don't think about it!

Just don't think about it!

"Change of plan. I have to take you to safety." I turned my head to him.

"Why? Did something happen?" I asked.

"There are certain people who want to hurt William through you," it sounded completely absurd.

"What?" I didn't understand this whole situation.

"Certain things happened that I can't tell you yet. I'll tell you everything later, okay? You have to trust me now." I frowned.

"Believe? I don't know you." He nodded in understanding.

"Well, trust William," but should I? Then I remembered the note and realized that someone could really be after it and that I could be in danger, but the thought of the plane really crossed my mind.

I was afraid of heights!

"Shall we go by plane?" I asked, even though I knew the answer, as we were approaching the airport.

"Yes, any problem?" I nodded and he raised an eyebrow.

"I'm afraid of heights and I hate flying," I admitted.

"I can assure you that my plane is completely safe," he said convincingly, but my fear didn't believe him. Suddenly there was the sound of a phone ringing.

"In about six hours," he said in Spanish when he took the call, "yes. I know what I'm doing. Bye." and hang up the call. After a few minutes the car stopped in front of the black plane and he got out. He walked around the car and opened the passenger door for me. I was watching the plane coming towards me and my stomach was doing somersaults.

After all, a person must overcome fear.

He waved his hand towards the plane and I hesitantly boarded it. When I entered the plane, I saw an unknown man who measured me.

"I hope you know what you're doing," said an unknown man behind me.

"Where are we flying to?" I asked quietly when he strapped me in.

"Home," I raised my eyebrows, "to Spain."
