AugustI was still looking in front of me in shock and walking absentmindedly. Unknowingly, I held my stomach and looked for support in it.
I've really been doing it a lot lately, because I felt like the movement calmed me down a lot.
But now it didn't work.
I was too shocked to calm down. My heart was beating like a race and at times I felt as if I might not even be able to handle it anymore.
And it was no wonder...
When a person whom I thought was dead for twelve years, I now find out that he is actually alive. Another left me, only to come back and tell me something I already knew. Of course I was upset about it.
I risked everything just to be able to meet my supposedly dead sister again and not even death will stop me.
I clicked on the receiver: "Kenzie, are you trying my patience?" she growled at me, but I completely ignored it.
"Jazlyn, you're not the youngest anymore, if you keep getting upset like this, you won't live to be thirty-six," I told her. It took all my energy not to show anything about myself.
"Haha, very funny," I closed my eyes and took a breath, "in ten minutes our birthday boy is giving a speech. This will be your moment to attack, understand?" I tried my best to keep my head up, but I couldn't at all from all the shock and stress.
In addition, I was waiting for my little peach, and that really didn't help the fuck.
Most of all, calm down, peach, everything will be okay. I talked to myself and stroked my belly.
I went out to the terrace and breathed in the fresh evening air.
It didn't help.
I felt dizzy and that's when I saw black darkness.
"Miss, can you hear me?" my senses responded to the sweet smell that made me open my eyes only to see the most beautiful gray irises ever. My heart almost stopped again at the sight of the handsome man holding me in his arms like a guard angel. His blond hair was blowing in the evening breeze and I wanted to dig my hands into it to see if it was as smooth as it looked at first glance.
"S-are you an angel?" I whispered to him and looked at his beautifully carved lips. He was so terribly close that he would only need to lean a little and our lips would connect.
"I can be your angel if you want, miss," and that rough voice of his really waved me off, "but I'm going to stand you up now, okay?" he smiled widely until his white teeth blinded me for a moment.
"Wh-what happened?" I asked, still dazed.
"You fell," I swallowed, "and I was standing so close. I just barely managed to catch you before you fell down." I grabbed my forehead and cleared my throat slightly.
"I.. thank you." our gazes locked.
"Sebastian Ali" he grabbed my hand and put it to his lips.
"Kenzie Garret," he kissed her and let her go slowly.
"Nice to meet you, Miss Kenzie," he smiled beautifully.
"Thanks for the rescue, anje-Sebastian," he chuckled, "but I'll have to go now. The party's inside. Goodbye."
Even before I entered his residence, I heard his intoxicating voice: "Goodbye."
"How romantic, angel." I was almost shocked when I heard her arrogant voice in my ears.
"Weren't you taught that you shouldn't listen to other people's conversations?" I grabbed the railing of the stairs and walked slowly down.
"Concentrate on what you have. Two more minutes." I nodded. I entered the spacious and above all luxurious living room. I stopped at the threshold when I noticed how many people were here.
"There are an awful lot of people here. I don't have a chance." I whispered to her and scanned everyone present. The wealth just oozed from all of this. My gaze stopped at the two men in suits, but what was behind them caught my attention.
Safe deposit box.
"And now I invite you to the cellar, where my biggest catch is." I was only interested in the last sentence of his speech.
"He's so predictable," Isabela laughed, "oh, little bastard." I slowly walked away from the living room when I saw a small box on the wall at the end of the corridor.
"Jazlyn, would you be able to hack into the alarm system?" I asked
"Smart," she said, "my love, I can hack into anything. Go to him and take his picture for me." I nodded and walked over to the device.
"I have." I took a picture of it.
"Send it to me." I sent her a photo in iMessage and looked around the room to see if anyone had seen me.
No one anywhere.
"Bastard," she grunted, "it will take a while. About two minutes."
"They didn't hurry at all, I have a lot of time," I growled.
"Angel, sarcasm doesn't suit you." I rolled my eyes and then something occurred to me.
"Jazlyn, do you have a gun with you?" I asked her.
"Why?"
"Where are you located?"
"I'm in the cellar."
"Okay, when you trigger the alarm, you shoot two bullets. The other one will be a little later, okay?" I walked into the living room again and inconspicuously poked my head out. The giants stood by the safe without blinking an eye.
"Shoot," I whispered to her, and a shot rang out, followed by screams from below, but the men didn't respond.
"I'm setting off the alarm," and a sharp sound went through the building. I screamed and burst into the room with two men.
"Did you hear? My God, it came from below!" I screamed hysterically, throwing my arms around. The giants in suits looked at each other. "What if they're hurt? God, help! I'm probably going to pass out!" I grabbed my forehead and sat down on the comfortable satin couch.
"Order! Miguel, the boss has been shot!" I widened my eyes in surprise, but I played my part. When they both left, I stood up sharply until I staggered over to the iron safe. I took out my phone and clicked on her app. The countdown started again.
I nervously looked around to see if I might see someone, but everyone was too busy shooting. I was jumping leg over leg and my heart was beating so fast I thought I was going to pass out again.
"Finally!" I hissed and the safe opened. My eyes widened at so much money and gold.
"It's in a red frame!" I grabbed the frame and squinted my eyes. I turned my head - clean air - I grabbed the tied bills and closed the door. I put the money in my bra and went out.
"I can't believe you shot him!" I said five minutes later as we walked to her car.
"The situation demanded it," she grinned and I rolled my eyes, "You've done the first task. Two more."
