Location : Mithila Royal Palace
**Later that afternoon, in the royal gardens of Mithila Palace...**
Avika walked slowly among the rows of blooming flowers, her fingers gently brushing against the petals. Her mind wandered back to the breakfast earlier that day.
She could still feel the warmth in her chest when Karna had praised her cooking. His words had been so genuine, filled with an understanding and appreciation that made her feel seen in a way she hadn't before.
Nearby, Karna sat under the shade of a large banyan tree, a book open in his lap. He tried to concentrate on the ancient scriptures he was reading, but his thoughts kept drifting back to Avika.
He remembered how she had blushed when he complimented her cooking, how her eyes had sparkled with both confidence and a hint of nervousness. There was something about her presence that brought a strange calmness to his mind, yet also stirred feelings he couldn't quite understand.
As if drawn by some unseen force, Avika found herself walking toward the banyan tree. She hesitated for a moment, not wanting to disturb him, but then took a deep breath and approached him." Maharaj Karna," she called softly.
Karna looked up from his book, a smile immediately lighting up his face. "Devi Avika, please join me. The gardens are especially beautiful today, don't you think?"Avika nodded and sat down on the grass a few feet away from him. "Yes, they are. I often come here when I need to think or clear my mind."
Karna closed his book, setting it aside. "And what is on your mind today, Avika?"She glanced at him, feeling a strange flutter in her chest when he said her name so softly. "I was just thinking about what you said earlier... about love and how it adds a special quality to everything it touches." Karna nodded thoughtfully. "It's something I've come to believe over the years. Love, in its many forms, has the power to transform the ordinary into something extraordinary."
Avika smiled, looking down at her hands. "I think... you're right. And sometimes, it's in the smallest of moments that we realize just how much we care for someone."
Karna's heart skipped a beat at her words. He watched her as she spoke, noticing the way her eyes seemed to glow with sincerity and warmth. "Yes," he said quietly, "sometimes, we don't even realize how deeply we feel until we are faced with those moments."
For a few moments, there was a comfortable silence between them. The only sounds were the soft rustling of leaves in the breeze and the distant chirping of birds. Suddenly, a soft breeze blew past them, sending a few flower petals fluttering through the air. Avika laughed softly as a petal landed on her nose, and she gently brushed it away. Karna couldn't help but smile at the sight; her laughter was like a melody that filled the air with a pleasant harmony.
"What makes you happy, Maharaj?" Avika asked, her voice curious. "I've seen you carry so many responsibilities, and yet you always seem so calm and composed."
Karna thought for a moment, then replied, "I find happiness in the simple things. The laughter of friends, the beauty of nature, the satisfaction of helping others... and moments like this, where I can share a peaceful conversation with someone who understands the value of these small joys." Avika felt her cheeks warm at his words. She didn't know why, but being around Karna always made her feel at ease. "I feel the same way," she admitted. "I'm happiest when I'm with my family, or when I'm cooking for others. It brings me joy to see people smile because of something I've done."
Karna looked at her, his eyes softening. "You have a generous heart, Avika. It's a rare quality, and it makes you who you are."Avika's heart swelled at his words. She looked into his eyes, searching for something, but she didn't quite know what. "Thank you, Maharaj Karna," she said softly, dropping the formalities for a moment. "I... I'm glad we had this chance to talk."Karna smiled gently. "As am I, Avika."
Just then, Krishna and Draupadi came into view, laughing and joking with each other. Seeing Avika and Karna together, Draupadi's eyes sparkled with mischief. She elbowed Krishna, whispering something that made him roll his eyes."
Well, well, look at this," Draupadi said teasingly as they approached. "The great Maharaj Karna and Devi Avika, lost in deep conversation under a tree. What could they possibly be talking about?"Avika blushed furiously and quickly stood up, trying to hide her embarrassment. "Oh, nothing much, just... enjoying the garden," she stammered.
Krishna smirked. "Sure, just enjoying the garden. It's nice to see you both getting along so well."Karna, noticing Avika's discomfort, stood up. "We were simply having a friendly conversation. Nothing more, nothing less."
Draupadi giggled and waved her hand dismissively. "Oh, relax, Maharaj Karna. I'm just teasing. Besides, it's good to see you both smiling. We all need a little more of that."
Avika smiled shyly at Karna, who returned her smile with a gentle nod.
Though neither of them had spoken of their growing feelings, there was an unspoken understanding between them, a connection that was slowly becoming clearer.
