The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a fiery glow over Hastinapur. Shadows grew longer as twilight embraced the palace, and within its walls, an air of tension simmered. Unbeknownst to Avika, danger lurked just beyond the serene gardens she so often roamed.

The Whisper of Danger

Karna had spent the day training in the fields, his mind focused on the upcoming competitions. Yet, something felt amiss. A nagging sensation clawed at him as he wiped the sweat from his brow. It was as if an unseen storm was brewing, one that threatened to disrupt the tranquility he had come to cherish.

While practicing archery, he overheard a hushed conversation between two palace guards. Their words, laced with urgency, made his heart race.

"Did you hear? There's been talk of mercenaries lurking near the riverbank," one guard whispered. "They're planning something sinister, targeting the guests."

Karna's instincts flared. His thoughts immediately turned to Avika. "I need to find her," he muttered, urgency propelling him into action.

The Race Against Time

Karna sprinted through the palace corridors, his heart pounding in his chest. As he navigated through the lavish halls adorned with intricate tapestries and golden embellishments, his thoughts raced ahead. What if he was too late? What if something happened to her?

Reaching the outer gardens, he spotted Avika's favorite path leading to the river. "Avika!" he called out, but his voice was swallowed by the evening air.

With every stride, a sense of dread crept in. He could envision her laughter mingling with the gentle sound of the river, but what if that laughter turned to cries for help?

A Haunting Silence

As Karna neared the riverbank, the environment shifted. The air was thick with tension, and the rustling leaves seemed to whisper warnings. He slowed his pace, scanning the area for any sign of Avika. The tranquil beauty of the river, under the soft light of the moon, now appeared ominous.

His instincts screamed at him, urging him to move forward. It was then that he heard it—a muffled cry. His heart raced as he charged toward the sound, muscles tense and senses heightened.

The Confrontation

When he reached the riverbank, Karna's breath caught in his throat. There, encircled by mercenaries, was Avika. Her arms flailed, and she fought fiercely against her captors. Rage surged within him, igniting his resolve.

"Let her go!" he shouted, stepping into the clearing with a commanding presence that demanded attention.

The mercenaries turned, surprised by his sudden appearance. "And what will you do, warrior?" one of them sneered, brandishing a dagger menacingly. "This is none of your business."

Karna's gaze was unwavering, his heart burning with a fierce determination. "It became my business the moment you laid hands on her."

The Battle Begins

With a swift motion, Karna drew his bow, nocking an arrow with expert precision. "I won't ask you again," he warned, his voice low and steady. "Release her, or you'll regret it."

The mercenaries exchanged nervous glances. They had heard of Karna's prowess, and the stories of his unmatched skills with the bow and arrow had spread throughout the kingdom. They hesitated, but their leader scoffed.

"Fool! You think you can take us all on alone?" he laughed, but the tremor in his voice betrayed his uncertainty.

Before he could finish, Karna released his arrow, striking true and hitting the dagger out of the leader's hand. The mercenary stumbled back, fear flashing in his eyes. "Attack him!" he roared, rallying his men.
