"Kalisa!" He screams, his voice cracking like broken glass, I feel the knife plow into my upper back, it twists into my flesh as blood leaks from my mouth, I gasp for air pressing my hands now dripping in ruby colored blood to my throat.

The knife leaves my body as quickly as it came and I see the floor getting closer as I fall forward, my hands don't react fast enough as I fall forward and land on the hard rocky floor.

Caspian tries to come over to me but becomes outnumbered, I'm completely helpless, I struggle to get back up.

Caspian can handle himself, he'll be alright, I look over my shoulder to see Willow and Vance frightening side by side along with some of your guards.

Aeron fights close to Caspian with a shining blade in his hand, Caspian's eyes look like a storm is brewing inside of them, he takes out all his fury on his opponents, his eyes never leave my line of sight.

"I need to get up." I say weakly. "No one is coming to rescue me." I look around for anything that can be of use, my eyes fall on a small dagger covered in blood.

My blood, that now drips down my legs as I crawl to reach it.

Once I grab a hold of the knife I plunge it into the wall and use it as a grip to keep myself up, Caspian notices this and makes his way to me, pushing through the remaining members.

I stand on shaky limbs and let myself lean on the uneven walls. Soon the commotion dies down, my eyes search the area to find our team victorious. I should feel like celebrating, happy that I've proved my own worth and that Caspian will finally share the details I need to take down Malgrave.

But instead I feel broken, not just because I'm bleeding out against the wall but because of how useless I feel right now.

I'm reminded of Nye, and how she was stabbed, she didn't stand a chance against whoever tried to kill her, how did she feel when her whole life flashed before her golden brown eyes.

What was going through her head when she came to the realization that she wouldn't be able to stand up, or that her last moments were spent in a dark alleyway.

Despite my best efforts to stay calm, tears prick at the sides of my eyes, I blink them away before Caspians notices.

He comes over in a sweat, he's bleeding from his forehead, I touch the wound delicately, blood sinking into my fingernails. "Caspian, you're going to need stitches." My voice is so weak it's barely audible, he takes me by the hip and scoops me into his arms.

"Shhhh, don't worry about me, okay? You're the one who just got stabbed." He says almost sounding grim.

"As long as you're safe too." The words escape my lips before I can stop myself, and Caspian's mouth twitches with a smile.
