Get out of there

He traces my needles with his fingers, I look up at him, he's wearing an unreadable expression and I don't know whether to be frightened or confused. He looks into my eyes, "Kali, do you trust me?"

He whispers, I glance over at Decker who has now moved even farther away with the nurse, but even so I lower my volume.

"Not entirely." I admit.

"Well, at least you're honest." He chuckles softly.

"I'm going to need you to trust me right now. Okay Kali?" All I do is nod, hoping that whatever he has in mind isn't another one of his idiotic plans.

He traces my needles again before ripping them out, I bite my lip to keep myself from yelling, but Caspian wastes no time in picking me up and he starts to run down the hall.

Decker flys after him. Caspian swings me over his shoulder, me facing Decker. Both to keep me stable and so Decker doesn't try to shoot him, in fear of hitting me.

"Warner!" Decker yells. "Do you think you can loosen yourself?!" He hollers, I just play along with whatever stupid plan Caspian has in mind.

"I'm afraid I'm too drained!" I say back, and Decker quickens his pace.

"Good job Kali." Caspian whispers.

"I just hope your plan is a smart one!" I whisper back, Caspian takes a sharp turn and starts going up a steep flight of stairs. "Caspian you're aware that this leads to-"

"To the roof." He says back. "I know exactly what I'm doing."

"I hope you do dumbass." I say annoyed, although I can't see I'm sure Caspian is smiling. He shoves his shoulder into the door at the top and I feel a gust of fresh air as we stand on the tall roof.

I don't even bother looking down, the wind picks up as light raindrops start to pour from the sky.

They melt into our clothes as Caspian continues running. Decker kicks the door open and continues running towards us. "Caspian! Where are you running to?"

"Right." He pants. "You can't see, don't worry we'll be fine."

"How can you say that?! We're trapped!" I say as Decker quickens his pace, seeming to get faster with every step.

"Oh, are we?" Caspian steps onto something, and that's when I hear it. The sound of helicopter blades.

He lifts me into the craft, and places me on a seat. He gives a signal to the pilot and co pilot and they don't waste a second on the roof.

Caspian closes the door behind him, and all I see is Decker running to the edge of the roof, clawing at the air. Caspian takes the seat next to me, out of breath and sweating.

"Cas- How did you? Where are we- what?" I say tripping over my words.

"Okay, Kali one thing at a time. When you didn't come back later that day I knew something was up, and I basically annoyed one of my guards until he spilled. He didn't say much, just that you were in the emergency room, and a few days later when Decker came to get me, I slipped my ankle cuffs back on so he wouldn't suspect anything, but I kept the key." He runs his hands through his hair. "That's when I saw you, and I knew that if I didn't do something I'd be waiting in that cell a lot longer than I planned. So I swiped your phone, and when they put me back in my cell for the night I used it to call someone."

"I thought you only worked for yourself." I say, confused.

"What can I say, I have friends in high places."He rummaged through his pockets before handing me my phone.

"Thank you." I muster. "For everything, I was supposed to help you escape, I didn't think it was going to be the other way around."

"Don't even mention it, Kali."

"But you know that now that you've done that, it's basically considered a kidnapping, and that Decker will come after you?"

"I'm aware, but he won't find us. Now you just sleep, okay Kali? Once you're up you can fill me in on everything that happened before you fell into your coma."

"But what about-"

"Shush!" Caspian whisper-yells. "Go to sleep." I didn't have it in me to fight back so I reluctantly agreed, my eyes grew heavy once more, as I drifted off into a deep sleep.
