"Kali," He chuckles. "Why would you think that?" He shakes his head and this time, my eyes grow wide. "The sound of your laughter, the joy of your smile, the way you walk, fight and even speak could chase away all of my nightmares. It broke me, to see you cry, and even worse tortured, I've been overcome with guilt about all the awful things I did to you. I used you, saw you as an opportunity instead of a human, but you're the only one who's made me laugh in years. I'm- no I've been madly in love with you. It baffles me how you feel the same way after all I've done. But from now on, I don't care if I'm in prison, if someone so much as lays a finger on you I'll cut their hands off. God I'd chase you to the ends of the Earth if that's what it took, compared to losing you prison seems almost peaceful. I want to give you my last name, I want to give you a chance to see me, really. I would let you do whatever you wanted to me, I couldn't care as long as we were in the same room. Sometimes I'm grateful I'm breathing the same air as you. All the words I wished to say disappeared on my tongue, his confession leaves me speechless, my mouth hangs open and Caspian takes a finger under my chin and closes it for me.

I swallow hard, trying to understand what he's saying. He loves me, he does and he's loved me for some time.

"Caspian, you really mean that?" He smirks.

"Yes I do Kalisa Warner." This is the first time he's said my full name, it makes me want to melt away, but I stay firm.

This is madness, he's going to prison, what are we going to do? I don't have time to think about it, the car stops and Caspian slips on his cuffs.

He kisses me again and smiles, a pure, peaceful, truly happy smile. "Until we meet again, Kali." One of the officers pulls him out of the car, and I stay in the backseat for some time.

"God Caspian Ford, you are such an asshole." I say through a laugh.
