At least until Decker tracks my phone and shows up here, maybe I can get around to trusting Caspian, it might take some time until I'm completely comfortable with him but he's a good person, and when I turn him in I'll let him know how sorry I am, and I'll even try to reduce his sentence.
Although he'll probably never trust me again, it's the right thing to do, and Caspian deserves it.
"No, Kali, I'm sorry for this." I turn around to see what he might be talking about, I nearly faint.
It's Decker and some other members of the staff, and they're all being held at gunpoint by masked figures, the same masks that Malgrave was wearing when he killed Nye.
I've been betrayed, and Caspian is working for Malgrave.
How could I be so stupid as to believe he changed?
He's been lying to me this entire time, I've been in a house full of criminals that whole time.
I bet the rival group was just another group similar to my own, that explains why I'd never heard of their group or any of their members.
But why aren't I dead, and why fake all of that just so I would come to Tulum with him?
There are too many questions in my head, so I refocus my attention on all the figures.
I pull guns from my coat pockets, I aim one at Caspian and the other at the figure currently holding Decker.
Caspian just snorts a laugh and pulls out a gun of his own.
I feel my heart rate accelerate and despite the cooler temperature I start to sweat.
"Why? And how?" I ask, fear, shock, confusion and betrayal are circling my tone of voice.
"You're not really in a position to be asking questions, Kali." Caspian says walking closer to me, I debate on shooting him, but I need to see how much I can squeeze out of him, and even if I did that he'd shoot Decker in an instant. "But because I'm such a nice guy I'll let you know how you were beaten so easily."
I let out an exasperated sigh. "I've been working against you from the start, at the parking lot I'd intended on taking you out then, but when you came down those steps, wasted as hell and I drove you home, a new plan was formed by Malgrave and I. We decided that we could pick off everything you cared about, one by one if I just earned your trust, when Malgrave has a new target he doesn't just kill them immediately, he wants to watch them suffer, that why it pained you so much when I was the only one to help you but you couldn't even accept it because you hated me. I've had cams on your room since day one, I heard everything when you were on the phone with Decker, and it didn't take long for us to put together the pieces, so when you called him this morning, we decided to intercept him"
How could I be so careless in not checking for any security cameras, I've grown slow, and I should've caught on sooner. "Although I'm really hurt you'd try to turn me in," He grips my chin in his hand. "You'll soon pay the price."
