Y/N's POV
The Hogwarts Grounds were even more beautiful than I imagined. The towering castle stood before me, its spires reaching into the misty sky. I'd dreamed of this place for years, but now that I was actually here, everything felt surreal.
As I followed the group of new arrivals toward the castle, a strange feeling settled in my chest. It wasn't nerves–more like...anticipation. Like something was pulling me toward this place, something more than just excitement for the new school year.
I kept my eyes on the path ahead, trying to shake the unease, but I couldn't help but feel like I was being watched.
Mattheo's POV
I almost didn't believe it at first.
Sitting at the Slytherin table in the Great Hall, the chatter of students filled the room, but I couldn't hear a thing. My eyes were locked on her.
Y/N.
It couldn't be. But there she was. The girl from my dreams–the girl who haunted my nights–standing there at the entrance with the rest of the first years. Her hair, her eyes, the way she held herself...it was her. My heart pounded in my chest, and I blinked hard, thinking it had to be a trick, some illusion. I'd dreamt of her too many times for this to be real.
But it was.
I stared, not caring if anyone noticed. She moved with the same grace as in my dreams, her expression curious as she took in the hall. She hadn't seen me yet. How could she? She didn't know me. How could she possibly know that I'd spent months dreaming of her?
The Sorting Hat was placed on her head, and I held my breath, waiting. She looked so calm, so at ease.
Hufflepuff.
The name was called, but it barely registered. I was too caught up in my own thoughts, the reality of the situation crashing over me. This girl–this figment of my imagination–was real, and she was standing right here at Hogwarts.
"Mate, you alright?" Theo asked, nudging me with his elbow.
I ignored him, my eyes following her as she made her way to the Hufflepuff table, sitting down among her new housemates. She smiled, her laughter blending into the noise of the hall, but I couldn't tear my gaze away. I had to know. I had to figure out who she was, why she looked exactly like the girl from my dreams.
The hall was abuzz with excitement, but I was completely distracted. My mind raced, trying to make sense of it all. This wasn't just some weird coincidence. There was something more here, something I couldn't explain, but I was going to find out.
Y/N's POV
I could feel someone staring at me.
As I sat at my house table, talking with the other students, that strange feeling from earlier hadn't gone away. In fact, it had gotten stronger. I glanced around, trying to figure out what it was, and that's when I saw him.
A boy from the Slytherin table–his dark eyes fixed on me, his expression unreadable. My heart skipped a beat, and I quickly looked away, my stomach fluttering with nerves. I didn't know him, but for some reason, he looked...familiar. Like I'd seen him before, though I knew I hadn't.
I tried to shake the feeling back to the conversation at my table, but I couldn't stop thinking about him. There was something about the way he looked at me, something intense, like he was trying to figure out who I was. And the more I thought about it, the stranger it seemed. I had no idea who he was, but something told me this wasn't the last time I'd see him.
Mattheo's POV
I couldn't just sit there and watch anymore.
After the feast, I lingered in the shadows of the corridor, waiting for her to leave the Great Hall. My mind raced with questions, and I needed answers. Why had she been in my dreams? Why did I feel this inexplicable connection to her.
Finally, she emerged, laughing softly with some other Hufflepuffs. My heart raced as she passed by, but I didn't move. Not yet.
Tomorrow, I told myself. Tomorrow, I'd find her. Tomorrow, I'd figure out who she really was.
But deep down, I already knew one thing for certain.
This wasn't just a dream anymore.
