The soul is a strange thing. Some believe once the body is done living, the soul remains on Earth roaming until it is called upon to start a new life, others believe the soul moves on and doesn't come back. In reality, the soul is the intangible essence of our being that gives us our identity. From a philosopher's perspective, the soul is the product of our consciousness and our perception of self, while spiritual viewers see the soul as a divine creation that connects us to something greater than ourselves.

But what happens if the soul reincarnates for the same two people over and over again, hoping that their story may one day be completed?

The first time Y/N met Mattheo Riddle, it was during a brisk autumn in the shadowed halls of Hogwarts. His dark eyes pierced through her as if he knew her soul before she even uttered a word. Their connection was electric, immediate, and impossible to ignore.

"Do I know you?" she asked, her voice tentative but curious.

Mattheo smirked, his gaze unwavering. "Not yet," he said simply.

In another lifetime, they met under the soft glow of a Parisian Cafe. Y/N was a painter, her hands smudged with charcoal as she sketched the view of the Seine. Mattheo was a poet, his journal brimming with dark verses.

"Do you believe in fate?" he asked, sliding into the chair across from her as if they were old friends.

She laughed softly, tucking a stray hair behind her ear. "I don't know. Do you?"

He didn't answer, but the way he looked at her felt like he had been searching for her forever.

In yet another life, Y/N was a healer, her hands busy saving lives on a war-torn battlefield. Mattheo was a soldier, his uniform bloodied and his soul weary. When she first found him, broken and near death, she almost turned him away—something about his presence terrified her.

But his eyes, haunted and familiar, stopped her in her tracks.

"I've seen you before," he whispered, delirious from pain.

Y/N froze. She wanted to deny it, but the truth stirred deep in her chest. She knew him too, though she couldn't explain how.

They always found each other. In every life, in every version of the world, their paths crossed as if the universe itself demanded it.

In some lives, they were enemies, their love buried beneath layers of betrayal and anger. In others, they were strangers who only shared a fleeting glance, but even that was enough to ignite the spark. And in the best lives, they were lovers, their connection unshakable and eternal.

But the story always ended the same.

In their final moment, Y/N would always remember. The memories of all their lives would flood back like a dam breaking, and she would see it all—the laughter, the pain, the endless cycles of finding and losing him.

"Why does it always end like this?" she asked one lifetime, her voice trembling as Mattheo's blood stained her hands.

"Because love like ours wasn't meant for forever," he replied, his voice barely a whisper. "But I promise, I'll find you again."

And he always did.

In this life, they were back at Hogwarts. It was the same autumn chill, the same shadowed halls. Y/N was older now, wiser. But when she saw Mattheo standing at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, staring at her as if he'd been waiting centuries for this moment, her heart stopped.

"It's you," she breathed, the words slipping out before she could stop them.

His lips curved into a familiar smirk. "Took you long enough."

As she stepped toward him, the memories began to stir again, faint but growing stronger. She didn't know how this story would end this time, but deep down, she already knew.

It didn't matter how many lifetimes they had or how many times it ended in heartbreak. They would always find each other.

Because love like theirs wasn't bound by time—it was infinite, a never-ending story written across the stars.
