The night was thick with tension, the very air crackling with magic and fear. The walls of Hogwarts Castle, once a symbol of safety and learning, now stood at the last defense against the darkness that had spread across the wizarding world. Flames flickered in the distance, and the sounds of battle echoed through the corridors–shouts, spells, the clash of weapons.

Amid the chaos, two figures moved swiftly through the shattered remains of the great hall. Y/N L/N and Mattheo Riddle, both fighting for Hogwarts–a death wish. They clung to each other as they navigated the crumbling castle. Their hearts pounded with the rhythm of the war raging around them, but they had no time to dwell on fear. The only thing that mattered now was survival–for themselves and for each other.

Y/N's hand tightened around her wand as she glanced at Mattheo, her eyes reflecting both determination and love. His dark hair was tousled, streaked with dirt and sweat, but his gaze was steady, resolute. She had fallen in love with that unwavering spirit during their years at Hogwarts, and now, in the midst of the greatest battle of their lives, she felt that love more deeply than ever before.

"Are you ready?" Mattheo asked, his voice low but calm. He reached out gently, and touched her cheek, his thumb brushing away a smudge of ash.

Y/N nodded, though her heart twisted with the knowledge of what was coming. "I'm ready," she whispered, her voice steady despite the storm of emotions within her.

They had made a silent promise to each other earlier that night–no matter what happened, they would face it together. They had fought side by side throughout the battle, and they would see it through to the end, whatever the end may be.

A deafening roar shook the ground beneath them, and the ceiling above groaned as chunks of stone crumbled away. Dust and debris rained down around them, but they pressed on, weaving through the remnants of the castle toward the courtyard where the final stand was being made.

As they reached the entrance, the full scale of the battle came into view. The courtyard was a battlefield of light and shadow, with spells flashing like lightning and figures darting through the smoke. Allies and enemies were locked in a deadly dance, their faces etched with determination and desperation.

Y/N's grip on her want tightened as she spotted a group of Death Eaters advancing on a cluster of students. She didn't hesitate. With a fierceful battle cry, she raised her wand and sent a stunning spell hurtling toward the nearest attacker. The spell hit its mark, and the Death Eater crumpled to the ground, but more were closing in.

Mattheo was at her side in an instant, deflecting curses and firing his own spells in rapid succession. They fought as one, their movements fluid and synchronized, born of years of friendship, love, and trust. But even as they pushed forward, the overwhelming force of the enemy pressed down on them, driving them back toward the castle walls.

A sudden explosion rocked the courtyard, and Y/N was thrown off her feet. She hit the ground hard, her breath knocked out of her lungs. Dazed, she struggled to push herself up, blinking through the dust and debris that clouded her vision.
