After pouring my heart out last night in my journal, I spent the early hours of the morning in thought, wondering what my life might have been like if I had never said yes to Mattheo Riddle. As the sun began to rise, casting a soft glow on my ceiling, I finally decided to get out of bed and face the day. After a long shower and my usual morning routine, I opted for a more natural look, tying my hair into a high ponytail. I slipped into my uniform–the plain white button-up shirt, school skirt, tie, and that ridiculously long robe we're required to drag around–and tried to remind myself that I have an image to uphold, thanks to Riddle.
With my textbooks and personal items gathered, I stepped out into the bustling hallways. Students were rushing to their classes, desperately trying to avoid being late, but I took my time. Oddly enough, Riddle wasn't waiting outside my dormitory like he usually does. I shrugged it off–maybe he had an early morning.
"Oi, Y/N!" I heard a familiar voice call out, and I turned around to see Enzo.
"Oh, hey Enzo. What's up?" I replied.
"I'm headed to Astronomy, but obviously running late, so I'm taking it easy. You're usually on time–what's going on?" he chuckled.
"Yeah, I woke up early but couldn't bring myself to get out of bed," I admitted with a light laugh. "By the way, have you seen Mattheo? He's usually waiting outside my dorm to walk us both to Charms."
"Huh... that's weird. He mentioned he was meeting up with you before heading out of our dorm. Maybe you took too long, and he's already in class?" Enzo suggested with a shrug.
"Yeah, maybe. Thanks, Zo. I'll catch you later," I waved as I walked away, not wanting to dwell on it too much.
I tried to push thoughts of Mattheo aside as I made my way to Charms, humming to myself. Once in class, I found my seat and half-heartedly listed to Professor Flitwick drone on about something we should've already known by now. My mind kept wandering, and I scanned the room for any sign of him–but he was nowhere to be found. Odd, but not completely unusual.
–Time Skip–
Finally, it was halfway through the day. Just two more classes and then I could take that much-needed nap. Feeling hungry, I headed to the dining hall, grabbed a few snacks, and made my way to the courtyard to relax under the tree in the center. I was enjoying the pace until a piece of parchment landed in my lap. I looked around, trying to see if anyone nearby had sent it, but no one seemed to be paying attention to me. Unfolding the note, I recognized the familiar handwriting:
Y/N,
Meet me in my dorm in a few minutes. I have something to talk to you about.
~M. Riddle
Shrugging, I gathered my things and headed towards the Slytherin dormitory.
