The air in the classroom was thick with late afternoon sunlight and whispered flirtations.

Y/N could feel eyes on her, but she didn't look. She knew whose they were.

Beside her, Cormac McLaggen laughed at something he'd said-something stupid, no doubt, but he said it with that smug grin and leaned in a little too close. His hand brushed hers as he reached for a shared ingredient on their potion table, and she stiffened.

"You alright, darling?" he asked, voice low and deliberate. "You've gone quiet on me."

Y/N forced a polite smile. "Just focusing."

From across the room, Mattheo Riddle was anything but focused.

His quill sat untouched. His jaw clenched. His dark gaze never strayed from the pair.

He didn't blink when McLaggen tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, or when Y/N pulled away only slightly-just enough to be decent, but not enough for Mattheo's patience.

The bell rang.

Students gathered their belongings. Laughter echoed through the stone corridors as groups poured out the door.

But Mattheo didn't leave.

Neither did Y/N.

As she slung her bag over her shoulder, a hand gripped her wrist. Firm. Demanding.

"Hey-" she started, but he was already pulling her down the corridor.

No words. No explanation.

Just raw, blistering heat in his touch.

He yanked open a broom closet door, shoved them both inside, and slammed it behind them with a click.

The space was dark and narrow. Dust hung in the air like tension.

"What the hell was that?" she hissed.

Mattheo didn't answer right away. He stared at her. Eyes wild. Chest rising and falling too fast.

"You like him touching you?" he asked, voice low and dangerous.
