Hyungmin looked stunned, his hand on his mouth. Jungkook pushed through the crowd, the music's throb resuming as if on cue. Taehyung's heart pounded, his eyes following Jungkook's retreating back. He felt a hand on his arm and looked up to find Jimin, his eyes full of confusion and concern.

"What was that?" Jimin asked, leaning in to be heard over the music.

Taehyung's throat tightened. "I don't know," he murmured, his eyes still on Jungkook's retreating form. He felt a storm of emotions brewing within him, a mix of shock, anger, and fear. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. "But Jungkook and I leaving," he said firmly.

Jimin nodded, understanding. He took Taehyung's hand and led him through the partygoers, who were slowly returning to their merriment, unaware of the tension that had just crackled through the air. They found Jungkook outside, leaning against the cool brick wall of the apartment complex, his eyes closed as he took deep breaths.

Taehyung went towards and firmly said, "Get up," he said coldly. "We're leaving." Jungkook's eyes snapped open, the haze of alcohol and confusion clearing for a moment. He nodded, pushing himself off the wall, and together they made their way through the partygoers who had started to spill out onto the sidewalks and into the night.

The cool air outside was a slap in the face, sobering Jungkook up slightly. "Tae, I'm sorry," he slurred, his voice thick with emotion. "I didn't mean to..."

Taehyung cut him off with a glare, his voice low and firm. "We're going back to the dorm." He didn't bother to hide his anger or disappointment. Jungkook nodded, his eyes downcast, and they started the walk back to the dorms. The silence between them was a heavy weight that neither knew how to lift.

Taehyung's thoughts raced as they navigated the darkened college streets. He had never seen Jungkook like this before. So reckless, so willing to cause pain. The Jungkook he knew was sweet and caring, his smile a beacon of light in the darkest of moments. This Jungkook was a stranger to him, and it scared him.

"Why did you do that?" Taehyung finally asked, his voice tight. Jungkook stumbled slightly, his eyes darting to the side. "I don't know," he mumbled, his voice barely audible. "I thought it was you."

Taehyung stopped in his tracks, his grip on Jungkook's hand tightening. "What?" He demanded, his voice rising despite his efforts to keep it steady. Jungkook's eyes searched Taehyung's face, a mix of regret and desperation swirling in their depths.

"When I saw Hyungmin, I just... I don't know. I guess I got mad. And when I talked to him, he said things that got under my skin. I just wanted to show him that you're mine and I'm yours," Jungkook said, his voice barely above a whisper. His eyes were pleading, searching for any sign of understanding or forgiveness.

"But then I was too drunk to realize that it wasn't you I was kissing but... him," Jungkook's voice trailed off, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment. Taehyung's eyes searched Jungkook's, looking for the truth in his words. Jungkook's gaze was unwavering, full of apology and regret.

Taehyung took a deep breath, trying to process what had just happened. The shock was slowly giving way to anger, but he knew getting into an argument wouldn't solve anything. "Let's just go back to the dorm," he said, his voice tight with emotion. Jungkook nodded, his shoulders slumped.

The walk back was tense, the air thick with unspoken words. When they reached their room, Taehyung turned to Jungkook, his expression unreadable. "Take a shower," he said firmly. "You need to sober up." Jungkook nodded again, his eyes downcast, and stumbled into the bathroom.
