Taehyung's nights were filled with vivid dreams. Dreams that left him breathless and yearning. In the quiet hours before dawn, he'd wake up tangled in his sheets, heart racing, and the remnants of desire clinging to his skin. These dreams were always the same: Jungkook, his roommate, pressed against him, lips seeking, hands exploring.
They were both college students, sharing a cramped dorm room. Their friendship had blossomed over late-night study sessions, laughter, and shared secrets. But lately, Taehyung found himself wanting more. His dreams blurred the lines between friendship and something deeper, something forbidden.
One morning, after yet another restless night, Taehyung stumbled into the kitchen. Jungkook was there, shirtless, pouring coffee into mismatched mugs. His hair was a mess, and the morning light painted golden streaks across his skin. Taehyung's heart stuttered.
"Hey," Jungkook said, glancing up from his phone. "You look like you didn't sleep."
Taehyung rubbed his eyes, trying to shake off the remnants of his dream. "Uhm it's nothing," he mumbled, reaching for a mug from the shelf. His hand brushed against Jungkook's arm, sending a jolt of electricity through him. He quickly pulled away, pretending not to notice Jungkook's questioning gaze.
Jungkook handed him a cup of coffee, the warmth of his hand lingering. "You've been weird lately, Tae," he said, his voice filled with concern. "Is everything okay?"
Taehyung took a deep breath, feeling the weight of his unspoken desires pressing against his chest. He wanted to confess, to tell Jungkook about the dreams that had taken over his nights. But fear held his tongue, fear of losing their friendship, fear of rejection. He forced a smile. "Yeah, I've just had a lot on my mind."
They sat at the small table, the silence between them thick and uncomfortable. Jungkook studied him, his eyes searching Taehyung's face. Taehyung took a sip of the bitter coffee, the warmth spreading through him. He watched Jungkook's Adam's apple bob as he took a drink, the way his fingers curled around the mug, and felt his resolve weaken.
As they continued their morning with awkwardness, they got ready for classes, trying to ignore the tension in the air. Taehyung couldn't focus on his studies; his thoughts kept drifting back to Jungkook. His mind replayed every touch, every glance, searching for signs that he wasn't imagining the connection.
It was lunchtime as Taehyung was with his Best friend Namjoon and decides to seek advice from him. They sat in the crowded cafeteria, the noise of chatter and clanking dishes creating a wall of sound around them. He took a deep breath and confessed everything.
Namjoon leaned back in his chair, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "You really like him, don't you?"
Taehyung nodded, feeling a mix of relief and dread. "But what if it's just a phase? What if I ruin our friendship?"
Namjoon's eyes softened. "Feelings aren't something you can control, Tae. If it's real, then it's worth the risk." He took a bite of his sandwich. "But you have to be sure about what you're feeling before you say anything to Jungkook."
Taehyung knew Namjoon was right. He needed to sort out his emotions before he could confront Jungkook. That afternoon, he found a quiet spot in the library, his thoughts racing. He pulled out a book, hoping to distract himself, but every page was a blur. The words danced before his eyes, and all he could see was Jungkook's smile, the way his eyes crinkled at the corners when he laughed.
He was so lost in thought that he didn't hear Jungkook approach until he felt a gentle hand on his shoulder. Jungkook sat down next to him, a concerned look etched on his face. "You've been avoiding me," he said softly.
