Taehyung's heart pounded in his chest as he took each step down the aisle, the cobblestone path seemingly stretching on forever. The cool breeze whispered through the leaves above, playing a gentle melody that did nothing to soothe his nerves. The soft rustle of fabric and the muffled sound of footsteps echoed around him, but all he could hear was the rhythmic thud of his own heart. He felt the weight of a hundred eyes on him, but none bore into him quite like Jungkook's, standing at the end of the path, as cold and unyielding as the stone altar behind him.
Their eyes met for the briefest of moments, and Taehyung felt a chill run down his spine. Jungkook's gaze was as sharp as a blade, and just as unforgiving. His expression was unreadable, his features carved from marble. The stark contrast of his black tuxedo against the stark white walls of the outdoor chapel only emphasized his detachment. Taehyung forced a smile, trying to convince himself that this was what he wanted, that this was for the best. After all, his father had assured him that this arranged marriage would cement the alliance between their two powerful families and secure their futures. But as he approached Jungkook, the doubt grew like a weed in his mind, choking out any hope of happiness.
The priest cleared his throat, and the ceremony began. The words blurred together into a cacophony of sound, and Taehyung found it difficult to focus. Jungkook's hand was like ice when he took Taehyung's hand, and his touch sent shivers through his body. The rings were exchanged, the vows recited, and before he knew it, they were pronounced husband and husband. Taehyung's mind raced with questions about the night to come, questions he had no answers for. Would Jungkook be as cold in bed as he was outside of it? Would he even bother to consummate the marriage, or would he ignore Taehyung as he had done for the past few months of their engagement?

The reception was a blur of faces and handshakes, congratulations and well-wishes. Taehyung nodded and smiled, playing the part of the happy groom, but inside he felt like he was drowning. Jungkook remained by his side, a silent sentinel, his eyes never leaving Taehyung's face, but his thoughts remained a mystery. As the evening wound down, the two of them retreated to their private suite. The room was adorned with flowers and candles, a romantic setting for a wedding night that Taehyung feared would be anything but.
Kim Sana and Kim Jay, Taehyung's parents, had spared no expense for their only son's wedding. They had hoped that the union with Jungkook's family would bring joy and unity, a new chapter in their legacy. Yet, as they watched from afar, they couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Jungkook's cold demeanor had been a concern from the start, but they had assured themselves that it was just nerves. Now, as they saw their son's tension, they couldn't help but wonder if they had made a mistake.
"Jungkook, I know this isn't ideal, but I hope you can find it in your heart to treat Taehyung well," Sana whispered, her voice trembling as she embraced her new son-in-law. Jungkook's mother, Nara, nodded, agreeing with Sana. "Yes, Kook, Taehyung is such an innocent soul."
Minho, Jungkook's father, remained stoic. "This marriage is about more than just the two of you. It's about our legacies. Do not disappoint us," he warned, his eyes as cold as his son's. Jungkook felt a heavy burden settle on his shoulders, the weight of his family's expectations pressing down on him.
Jay nudged Minho on his side. "Oh give the young ones a break, they just got married for fucks sake Minho. Can't you see how nervous they are?"
Minho grunted. "Nervousness is not an excuse for disrespect."
Jay scoffed. "Taehyung don't listen to him, you are going to be fine, bear with Jungkook." Taehyung nodded trying to soak in the comfort from his father's words.
