Taehyung's earliest memory was of lying on the floor in their small, cluttered apartment, the sun streaming in through the half-open blinds. His mother's laughter danced around him as she tickled his bare belly, her warm, comforting hands making him giggle until his cheeks were pink and his eyes watered. He felt safe, loved, and utterly content in those moments. Years later, that chubby belly remained, a soft reminder of the joy and security he once knew.

Now a high school junior, Taehyung often found himself comparing his reflection to the sculpted abs of his classmates in the locker room. He'd suck in his stomach and pull his shirt down to hide the bulge, his cheeks burning with self-consciousness. Jungkook, his boyfriend of two years, had seen him at his most vulnerable and still loved him, but the whispers of doubt remained.

The hallways buzzed with the energy of a thousand teenagers, all caught in the thrall of their own dramas and dreams. Taehyung navigated the sea of bodies with his eyes mostly on the floor, the frames of his glasses sliding down his nose with every nervous push. Jungkook, ever the social butterfly, fluttered from group to group, leaving a trail of laughter and goodwill in his wake. When their eyes met, Jungkook would flash a smile that made Taehyung's heart soar, briefly banishing the shadows of inadequacy.

One afternoon, as they sat side by side in the crowded cafeteria, Jungkook leaned in close, whispering sweet nothings into Taehyung's ear that only he could hear. His breath was warm, and the scent of his cologne filled Taehyung's nostrils, a familiar and comforting scent. Jungkook's hand found its way to Taehyung's belly, gently rubbing the softness beneath his shirt. Taehyung felt his face heat up, aware of the curious glances thrown their way. He tensed, ready to shove Jungkook's hand away, but Jungkook only whispered, "I love you just the way you are, Tae."

The bell rang, signaling the end of lunch. Jungkook stood up, his hand lingering for a moment before he finally pulled it away. Taehyung felt a pang of loss and confusion. He looked up at Jungkook, who smiled reassuringly before grabbing his hand and leading him to their next class. The warmth of Jungkook's hand seemed to radiate through him, easing the tension in his shoulders. As they walked, Jungkook leaned in again, his cheek brushing against Taehyung's, and said, "Don't let anyone make you feel less than perfect, not even yourself."

The words echoed in Taehyung's mind throughout the day, especially during PE, where his classmates' judgmental stares and cruel whispers seemed more pronounced. He struggled to keep up with the rest of the class, his breaths coming in gasps as he ran the last lap. Jungkook, ever the supportive boyfriend, waited for him at the finish line, clapping and cheering. Taehyung couldn't help but feel a twinge of resentment towards his own body, which had betrayed him once again.

After school, they stumbled into an empty classroom to catch their breath. Jungkook looked at him with concern, his eyes searching Taehyung's. "You okay?" he asked, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. Taehyung nodded, not trusting his voice to stay steady. Jungkook's touch was a comforting reminder that he wasn't alone.

The room was dimly lit, the setting sun casting a warm glow through the dusty windows. Taehyung leaned against the coolness of the chalkboard, feeling the roughness of the surface against his back. Jungkook stepped closer, his eyes locked on Taehyung's. "You know I love every part of you, right?" he said earnestly. "Especially that belly."

Taehyung couldn't help but smile slightly at Jungkook's words, his eyes welling up with a mix of emotions. "But what if everyone else doesn't?" he murmured, his voice barely audible. Jungkook's expression grew serious as he reached up to cup Taehyung's face, tilting it so their eyes met. "What everyone else thinks doesn't matter, Tae. It's what you think that's important."

With a gentle touch, Jungkook removed Taehyung's glasses, setting them on the desk next to them. He looked into Taehyung's eyes, which were now clear of the barriers that had been there moments ago. "Look at me," he said firmly, "You are more than enough, just the way you are." His thumb brushed away a tear that had escaped, and Taehyung felt his resolve begin to crumble. He leaned into Jungkook's embrace, feeling the strong, solid warmth of his body, and let out a shaky sigh.
