"You're going to kill yourself, you know," Jungkook said, his voice carrying a hint of frustration as he watched Taehyung light up another cigarette.

"It's just a cigarette and it cannot be that bad." Taehyung replied, blowing a smoke ring into the air. His eyes never left the TV, a smug smile playing on his lips as if daring Jungkook to challenge him further.

"Honey don't you love me and you know it makes me sad." Jungkook walked over and sat beside Taehyung on the couch, his voice soft but firm. He placed a gentle hand on Taehyung's thigh, feeling the muscles tense beneath his touch. The room was filled with the faint scent of smoke and the low hum of the TV, a stark contrast to the tension between them.

"It's just a cigarette like you always used to do." Taehyung's words hung in the air, a silent challenge to Jungkook's concern. Jungkook took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving Taehyung's profile. The glow of the cigarette illuminated the sharp lines of his nose and jaw, casting shadows across his high cheekbones.

"I was... different then. I don't need them to be cool." Jungkook's grip tightened on Taehyung's thigh, his thumb tracing circles. "It's just a cigarette and it harms your pretty lungs."

"Well it's only twice a week so there's not much of a chance." Taehyung shrugged nonchalantly, his eyes still glued to the screen. Jungkook felt his patience fraying at the edges. "It's just a cigarette it will soon be only ten." Jungkook's voice was calm, but the message was clear: this wasn't a habit he was willing to let slide.

"Honey can't you trust when I want to stop I can." Taehyung turned to Jungkook, the defiance in his eyes now mixed with a glimmer of hope. "And besides, it's just a cigarette, and it's just a Malboro Light." He took a drag, holding Jungkook's gaze as if daring him to disagree.

"Maybe, but is it worth if we fight." Jungkook's voice was steady, his eyes never leaving Taehyung's. "It's just a cigarette that I got from Bogum." Taehyung said, his voice holding a note of defiance. He knew Jungkook didn't approve of his smoking, especially not when he'd quit himself.

"Oh he's gonna get a smack and I'm gonna give you three." The suddenness of Jungkook's words made Taehyung's eyes widen in surprise. He looked down at the cigarette between his fingers, the end smoldering dangerously close to his skin. Jungkook leaned in, his breath warm against Taehyung's ear as he whispered, "But I'd rather it be from me than the cancer."

Taehyung's hand trembled as he brought the cigarette to his lips, the smoke curling around them like a lover's embrace. Jungkook watched, his eyes filled with a mix of love and anger. He knew that Taehyung's smoking was more than just a simple habit; it was a crutch, a way to deal with the stress of their busy lives and the occasional insecurity that crept in. But Jungkook couldn't stand by and watch the person he loved slowly destroy themselves.

"Please," Jungkook said, his voice soft but firm. "I hate seeing you do this to yourself." His hand slid up to Taehyung's shoulder, his thumb brushing against the smooth skin beneath the fabric of his shirt. Taehyung's eyes darted to Jungkook's, searching for understanding. He took a deep drag, the smoke leaving his mouth in a slow, deliberate stream.

FLASHBACK ENDS彡

Jungkook eyes welled up in tears once again, clutching the photo of his lover close to his heart. "Why didn't you listen to me Taehyung?" He whispered to the empty room. The echo of his voice was the only response.

Taehyung had been gone for a year now, leaving Jungkook with nothing but regret and a lingering scent of smoke. He missed the way Taehyung would laugh, the way his eyes would light up when he was excited, and the feel of his soft skin. Most of all, Jungkook missed the fiery passion they shared, the way Taehyung would submit to him in every way, allowing him to be the protector and the guide in their relationship.
