The Seventeen members were buzzing with excitement as they entered the restaurant, their faces lit up by the glow of the city lights reflecting off the restaurant's glass façade. The end of their world tour was a major milestone, and they were ready to celebrate in style. Laughter and chatter filled the air as they made their way to the reserved table, which was already decked out with festive decorations.
The restaurant was a chic, modern establishment with a cozy atmosphere, perfect for their much-needed respite. Their manager had arranged this celebration, knowing how hard the boy worked over the past few months. As they settled into their seats, the waitstaff, eager to serve the VIP guests, quickly took their orders.
"Let's go big tonight!" Woozi declared, eyes sparkling with anticipation. "We deserve it!"
"Absolutely!" Joshua agreed, "We should order everything we love."
Soon, the table was filled with an array of dishes: juice, steaks, sizzling seafood platters, an assortment of pasta, and enough side dishes to feed an army. Mingyu, ever the enthusiastic eater, was especially excited.
"I'm going to devour everything here," Mingyu laughed, his eyes scanning the lavish spread. "I've missed good food!"
The group enjoyed their meal, chatting and joking about everything from tour mishaps to personal anecdotes. The atmosphere was warm and joyful, with the occasional burst of laughter echoing through restaurant.
It was about halfway through the meal when the staff began to notice a subtle, almost unnoticeable shift. One of the newer servers, who had recently joined the team, was acting somewhat out of place - nervous, perhaps a little too eager. Unknown to the members, she had slipped something into Mingyu's plate.
As the night wore on, Mingyu was eating with enjoyment, completely oblivious to the danger lurking in his meal. He laughed heartily with his friends, completely immersed in the celebration.
"Can't believe we're finally done with the tour," Dk said, raising his glass. "Here's to the best tour ever and to more great moments together!"
"To Seventeen!" the members cheered, clinking their glasses and enjoying the festive atmosphere.
After they finished their meal, the members decided to take a group photo to commemorate the night. Their manager snapped a few pictures, and everyone was in high spirits. Mingyu, having eaten more than his share, seemed particularly lively.
But as they made their way out of the restaurant and into the waiting van, Mingyu's demeanor began to change. He was quiet, and there was a faint hint of discomfort on his face. He tried to mask it with a smile, but his members noticed the subtle difference.
"Hey, Mingyu, you okay?" Hoshi asked, his eyes narrowing with concern.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Mingyu replied, but there was a strain in his voice. "Just a bit of a stomach ache. I'll be fine."
The van ride was a mixture of chatter and music, but Mingyu's discomfort grew. His abdomen started to throb with pain, and he clutched his stomach, trying to breathe through the agony. He hoped it would pass, but the pain only intensified.
When they arrived home, Mingyu tried to act normal, though his face was pale. He made his way to the bathroom, hoping that maybe a bit of rest would help. However, the pain became unbearable, and he stumbled, clutching the bathroom door frame.
"Mingyu?" Jeonghan's voice carried from the hallway, laced with concern. "Are you okay?"
Before Mingyu could respond, a wave of nausea hit him, and he threw up violently, collapsing in the bathroom. The sound of retching caught the attention of the other members, and they rushed to the door, finding Mingyu slumped on the floor, blood mixed with the vomit.
"Hyung!" Seungkwan shouted, panic rising in his voice. "Mingyu!"
The members quickly pulled Mingyu to a more comfortable position and checked his pulse. It was weak and uneven, sending shockwaves through the group. They had no idea what to do but knew they had to get help immediately.
"Get him to the hospital!" S.Coups commanded, his voice a mix of fear and authority. "Now!"
They carefully carried Mingyu to the van, the atmosphere tense and fraught with anxiety. The ride to the hospital felt interminable, with each minute stretching into an eternity. Mingyu's condition was worsening, his breathing labored and his color fading.
When they arrived at the emergency room, the staff move quickly, taking Mingyu into the treatment area. The members were left waiting in the cold, sterile waiting room, their faces etched with worry and fear. They paced and trued to stay calm, but the uncertainty gnawed at them.
Finally, after what seemed like hours, a doctor emerged. His expression was serious, and the members crowded around him, desperate for information.
"He's stable now," the doctor began, "but it appears he was poisoned. We're treating him for food poisoning."
"Poisoned?" S.Coups echoed, his voice trembling. "How... how did this happen?"
"It's difficult to say exactly without any investigation," the doctor explained. "But the symptoms and the blood suggest that he ingested something toxic. We'll need to do more tests, but for now, he's getting the care he needs."
The weight of the news hit them hard. S.Coups, normally calm and collected, was visibly shaken. His protective instincts flared, and he was already thinking about the next steps.
"We need to find out who did this," he said, his voice tight with anger. "We have to report this."
The members nodded in agreement, their concern for Mingyu overshadowed by a growing sense of outrage. They decided to head back to the restaurant to investigate. They couldn't shake the feeling that someone there had to be responsible.
The next morning, S.Coups and a few other members returned to the restaurant. They met with the manager and relayed what had happened. The manager was horrifies and immediately cooperated, providing security footage and assisting with the investigation.
It wasn't long before the staff member who had acted suspiciously was identified. The footage showed him tampering with Mingyu's food. The police were called, and the staff member was promptly arrested. The restaurant's management assured the group that they would cooperate fully with the investigation and take measures to ensure such incidents never happened again.
Back at the hospital, Mingyu was slowly recovering. The doctors had managed to stabilize him, and his condition was improving. The members were relieved but remained on edge, their focus entirely on their friend's well-being.
Mingyu finally woke up, his eyes opening to see his members gathered around hum. Despite the pain and weakness, he managed a weak smile.
"Hey," he whispered, his voice barely audible.
"Hey, you're awake." S.Coups said, his voice thick with emotion. "How are you feeling?"
"Like I've been through a war," Mingyu joked weakly, trying to lighten the mood.
"We were so scared," Joshua admitted, tears welling in his eyes. "You had us worried sick."
"I'm sorry," Mingyu said, his voice breaking. "I didn't mean to put everyone through this."
"Don't apologize," Dk said firmly. "You didn't do anything wrong. We're just glad you're okay."
As the days passed, Mingyu continued to recover, and the support from his members never wavered. The incident had been a traumatic experience, but it also strengthened their bond. They were more determined than ever to protect each other and cherish their time together.
The restaurant staff member was tried and convicted for her actions, and the restaurant took steps to ensure the safety of its patrons. The members of Seventeen knew that their world was unpredictable, but as long as they had each other, they felt stronger and more united than ever.
The night of celebration had turned into a night of fear and worry, but in the end, it reaffirmed what they already knew: their bond was unbreakable.
