As they settled around him, the atmosphere shifted. They shared jokes and stories, laughter weaving through the air, creating a cocoon of safety and warmth. Mingyu felt a sense of relief wash over him, the grip of fear loosening.
"Remember, we're right here," Jeonghan whispered, as he settled in next to Mingyu. "You're not alone in this."
"I know," Mingyu said, closing his eyes, feeling the comfort of their presence. "I really appreciate you all."
As they prepared for sleep, Mingyu felt a sense of peace settle in his heart. With his members by his side, he knew he could face whatever came next.
As the members settled in around Mingyu, he felt the warmth of their presence envelop him, but the fear still clung to him like a shadow. He could hear the soft breaths of his friends and felt their reassuring hands close by.
"Just close your eyes, Mingyu," Jeonghan murmured, sensing his tension. "We're right here. Nothing's going to hurt you."
Mingyu took a deep breath, nodding slowly. "Okay. I'll try."
As he finally let his eyelids grow heavy, he felt the weight of sleep pulling him under. For a moment, he felt safe, cocooned in the laughter of his members. But as darkness closed in, that familiar dread resurfaced.
He found himself slipping into a dream, but this time, something felt off. The air turned thick and heavy, and suddenly he was trapped in a fog of confusion. Mingyu tried to call out, but his voice wouldn't come. Panic surged through him as he realized he couldn't move-he was completely paralyzed.
"Mingyu?" a voice echoed in the distance, but it felt muffled, distorted. He strained against the invisible weight holding him down, his heart pounding in his chest.
"Help! Please!" he tried to scream, but no sound escaped his lips. He could see the outlines of dark figures creeping closer, their intentions unclear but menacing.
"Mingyu!" The voice called again, but this time it was stronger. It felt like a lifeline amidst the chaos.
Suddenly, he felt a jolt of fear. The figures loomed larger, and his breath quickened. He tried to blink, to wake up, but his body refused to respond.
"Mingyu! Wake up!" Jeonghan's voice broke through the haze, but it felt like a distant echo.
"Help me!" Mingyu thought, desperately wanting to reach out, but he was trapped in a waking nightmare.
"Mingyu!" DK shouted, shaking him gently. "Wake up! Please!"
In that moment, a surge of adrenaline coursed through him, and with a final, powerful effort, he pushed against the unseen force. Suddenly, he gasped awake, his eyes flying open as he bolted upright.
"Mingyu!" Jeonghan was right beside him, eyes wide with concern. "You're okay. You're safe!"
Mingyu's chest heaved as he struggled to catch his breath, tears streaming down his face. "I-I couldn't move... there were shadows," he stammered, feeling the panic bubbling over.
"It was a sleep paralysis," Woozi said softly, reaching out to place a comforting hand on Mingyu's back. "You're okay now."
"I thought I was stuck forever," Mingyu cried, the fear still coursing through him.
"We're here," Hoshi reassured him, moving closer. "We'll keep you safe. Just breathe with us."
As they formed a circle around him, their hands creating a barrier of comfort, Mingyu tried to calm his racing heart. He felt the warmth of their presence, the weight of their assurance.
