(Y/N) POV

I haven't felt eternity quite like sitting in an empty cell; that and the white room except there was an absence of overly anxious roommates and high-alert security guards constantly on duty. The shoddy sleeping cots, a working toilet, concrete floors, and solidarity made it feel like a dorm compared to the white room. It could have reached the title bedroom if it weren't for the irritating neighbor who moved in the same day and berating me about today. Surprisingly she ran out of steam quickly when I gave a swift repeated rebuttal of today's rally. Having finally been given some peace, a nigh audible radio can be heard in the distance from the cells sharing the current events of which I listened carefully to.

Radio: "Breaking news, Chieftain Ghira Belladonna was shot during a live speech and is now hospitalized. The shooter Ilia Amitola; a White Fang member in Adam Taurus' splinter group was quickly arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder along with (Y/N) who at the rally gave a speech. Officers speculate that the two were involved—" The sounds of keys jingling quickly drowned out any syllable I could make out promptly followed by footfalls that came closer. A new-faced officer appeared, the keys in his hands as he approached my cell.

Officer: "The Belladonnas have dropped all charges on you." There was a notable venom between his words when he unlocked my cell door.

(Y/N): "My belongings?"

Officer: "Front desk." I faced Ilia with a teasing smug who was still sulking.

(Y/N): "Try not to miss me too much." With her out of the way to Adam, I had concerns involving Ghira as his condition continues to be fatal. The spokesperson has mentioned that Ghira's condition is unknown to the general public for safety reasons. Either way, I must thank the Belladonnas again for their generosity when I rendezvous.

Blake POV

It wasn't confirmed yet, but Dad's survival was a toss. I couldn't for the life of me predict if he was going to make it. It had been a few hours since Dad entered the emergency room and Mom had to retreat outside for some air and to compose herself. Sun and I were still seated in the patient's room occupied only by us and a handful of guards waiting for the news to be delivered while Sun attempted to piece together what happened.

Sun: "I don't get it! You knew Ilia, why would Ilia try to kill your Dad without any hesitation? Did the White Fang put her up to this and why attack after the speech? How could everyone sit around and let the White Fang attack your dad and Haven?"

Blake: "...Sun."

Sun: "I mean... this could only mean bad things for everyone!"

Blake: "Sun! You aren't helping."

Sun: "I'm just saying–" I rolled my eyes at him with an annoyed look.

Blake: "The attack on Haven will affect them whether they like it or not. As much as I want my dad to survive, I can't keep moping when Adam is nearly ready to attack. If Haven falls, it will only make things worse for the faunus... everywhere."

Sun: "Adam... He's the guy you used to... work with?" I sighed at the thought of him, still upset at the path he had chosen.

Blake: "...Yes."

Sun: "Sorry! Forget I brought it up."

Blake: "No, it's okay." There was a moment of silence between us and having brought up the subject of Adam, I couldn't help but ask him. "Have you ever met someone and thought to yourself, 'They are the personification of THIS word."

Sun: "Uh..." He scratched the back of his head with uncertainty.

Blake: "Okay, well... I remember getting to know Ruby and thinking 'This girl is the embodiment of purity.' After a while, I saw Weiss as defiant, and Yang was strength."
