(Y/N) POV
Ideologies aside, the fight panned out as expected. With the playing field greatly in my favor, disposing of anybody in the conference room.was nothing but the snap of the finger. The room lit up like a fireworks show while hot lead rained down on my position. Something like this was nothing more than child's play, having sublimated and avoiding all projectiles flying at me. My mind laughed at the army they had amassed as I flew into a corner grasping a flask from my stash and began drinking all of its content; the anesthesia's effects kicking immediately and feeling drowsy. What is enough to kick an elephant into sleep should do the trick without killing them. The air now quickly dispersing and intermingling with anesthesia went to work immediately. The bodies slumped to the ground as gunfire began dropping by the decibels. In a single minute, the room was filled with a translucent mist and nearly every White Fang member had collapsed under my influence.
A singular step caught my attention, tilting my gaze at the sound to my surprise with a stinging shock at my arm. My injection gauntlet absorbed much of the hit, but my arm felt numb. Looking over at the attack was none other than Ilia who fashioned herself with a bandana over her lower face.
Ilia: "Why? Why won't you attack back?! You could have ended this fight with everyone dead!"
(Y/N): "Simple... I tire of killing. Especially when trying to prove a point." Ilia grew impatient and lunged toward me, having to avoid, block, and push her back as I threw poisoned daggers for her to swat them away. I had to constantly dodge her whip lashes while trying to exhaust her. My hit arm flared up with pain as we fought, fumes being inhaled, and blows being traded. With her motions slowing, I managed to throw a blade that cut through her cloth mask. That overconfidence had me slip up my movements for a second, with her whip contacting my weapon and disarming me. I retreated into cover and in doing so the lights slowly extinguished themselves probably by Ilia.
Having quickly retrieved my weapon, I was in the dark but not at a major disadvantage thanks to my eyes settling into its accustomed night vision thanks to a past transplant. It was still Ilia's territory now, having used the cloak of darkness to mask most of her movements. Now somewhat of a fair fight, I became weary of her presence waiting for the slightest sign of her; a step from behind had me spinning on my heel and blocking the attack. My counter held no result with her having jumped back into the shadows.
Ilia: "Why does she trust YOU of all the humans?"
(Y/N): "Because some people are willing to listen to the enemy for a change." I transformed my weapon into my uzi and knife and slit open my hand, watching my blood trickle down my arm. Amidst my self-harm, I heard another step in the dark, flinging my injured arm at the sound and hearing a disgusted sound as my blood splattered on a silhouette of the faunus. "Found you~"
I opened up a hailstorm of bullets at the bright red splatters running down the aisles and closing the distance between us for another attack. In a series of attacks, blocks, and shots it came down to time as the effects of the sedatives finally showed. She easily blocked any attack, but time was running out for her in this fight. With her eyelids forcing down on her and her strength dwindling, all it took was one final knock to the head as she fell face-first on the ground. The fight was over, leaving me time to relieve some stress finally; plopping myself in the nearest chair for a breather. However, my fight was far from over.
WFM: "Ilia! Have you found the traitors?!"
(Y/N): "This day can't get any better..." With no time to bandage my wounds, I readied myself again for a fight.
Blake POV
The second fight in a hospital ended with triumph on our end. Fennick and Corsac have led their group against those still loyal to Adam. I shouldn't be surprised that there were spies among those who posed as a guard for us. We came out mostly unscathed, Dad was safe along with Mom, and Sun and I were able to defend against Fennick and Corsac until reinforcements arrived. One by one the attacks present in the attack surrendered upon the realization that they had lost. Sun, Mom, and I emerged from the ramshackle hospital, many of which who surrendered followed as some of Menagerie guards guided them. The press and citizens greeted us when we got outside along with some more Menagerie guards.
Saber: "Get in there, search for any stragglers!" He turned to Mom after he handled some of the prisoners to the guards. "We came as soon as we heard the call. Your house should be secure soon"
I took a moment to look at the crowd, concerned and vexed by the situation and throwing words like 'who would do this' and 'human must have'.I took a breath and walked down to speak with them.
Blake: "Humans didn't do this. We did this, faunus, we did this to ourselves." None of them said a word, all of which stood and listened. "We are just as capable of hate and violence as the humans, but I don't think any of us would jump at the chance to point that out. So then why are we standing back and letting Addam do it for us?! By doing nothing and staying silent, we let others speak and act in our place, and if we're not proud of the choices they make, then we have nothing to blame but ourselves. What happened here, this is the message Adam Taurus will bring to the world if no one stops him, but we can stop him! All of you have to understand that you are looking for simple answers to a complicated problem. I can't give that to you, none of us can! I don't know how to make the hate go away, but I know that this kind of violence isn't the solution. I understand that asking you to leave your homes and protect Haven is asking you to put your lives at risk, but that's what's at stake. So I'm going, and I'll stand by myself if I have to."
Sun: "You won't have to stand alone." Sun stepped forward with his chest out. However, the people still stood uncertain and indifferent. Hope looked to have been dwindling as some were shaking their heads.
Faunus: "I'll go!" A single brave citizen had another then another until the entire crowd was in an uproar as volunteers yelled out in droves, ready to join the fight.
Sun: "Looks like we've got work to do."
Blake: "Thank you. (Y/N) is probably waiting for us back home." Speaking of him, a buzzing resonated off my scroll and with nothing left to worry about, I took it. "(Y/N) are you alright?"
(Y/N): "I'm fine... Is everyone okay?"
Blake: "Yes... is Ilia–"
(Y/N): "Apprehended? Yes. She won't be waking up for a little." I heard a breath from him and moments of silence on his end.
Blake: "Is everything alright?" Audible background mumblings could be heard along with some disagreements on his end.
(Y/N): "... I'm getting to it– Goodbye, Blake... and good luck." With a thud, the connection severed and my mind flooded with questions, questions turned to concerns.
Sun: "What happened?" I didn't answer him, having hastily returned to my house and my mind racing, hoping nothing had gone awry. "Hey!" Sun tailed me throughout the run and upon arriving found my house looking partially destroyed and surrounded by citizens watching the aftermath with the remaining guards exiting my home those who have surrendered or injured.
Having stopped for a moment by a singular guard before backing away having recognized my identity, I entered seeing the walls riddled with bullet holes having moved closer to the conference room, I stopped in horror at the massacre that happened as a few White Fang Members on a gurney being wheeled out in body bag. What I thought was an accident on his end, I took a step forward and heard a splash beneath my feet before quickly drawing back and seeing the seeping pool of blood coming from the conference room. The disheartening sight had me hesitate, but determined to find (Y/N) and as to answer for this. Entering the room, I found the place occupied by guards actively pulling and arresting White Fang Members. A guard noticed my presence and before he could address me, I asked him the first thing on my mind.
Blake: "Was there a human here?" The guard gave me a perplexing look while moving a White Fang Member, having proceeded out of the room. I didn't give up, asking again and again with each one concluding that (Y/N) had never appeared once on their radar. "There has to be something left." I continued restlessly searching for a clue and saw in plain sight (Y/N)'s scroll perched on a lonely empty chair.
Picking up the device, I found that it contained nothing; not a single scrap of information, a message, but a single picture that contained (Y/N), Sun, and I all smiling whist walking down the streets of Menagerie.
